A mid sized South Indian restaurant in Silom, Bangkok. Basic functional decor with seating for around 40 people. Neat and clean.
Food was delicious. We ordered paper dosa and pani puri as starters. Dosa was crisp.served with sambar and two chutneys.
Maincourse was vegetarian and non vegetarian thalis. Food was piping hot and delicious. Topped off the delicious lunch with filter coffee and masala tea.
Service was fast and efficient. We all enjoyed the delicious lunch on a rainy Saturday.

Chole bhature had a dead insect. Aloo Paratha had too many green chillies. Overall the food was below average. Don't recommend.

Went in for dinner today to Ananda Bhavan and we were served with some great food. The experience started off with the staff member (young lady) that was very friendly and had a smile on all the time.

All items we ordered were available and exceeded expectations. Highly recommended for both veg and non veg food.

This vegetarian Thali is probably the best I’ve eaten outside of India. Flavors were impeccable and well balanced. Definitely recommend

High quality food specialized in Chettinad style. Chettinad is the region located in Tamil Nadu which is a state of south India. The food is mainly served in a "Thali" style which is basically a small portion of each dish served in one plate. They also have the variety of dishes which you can choose from their menu. I highly recommend "Chettinad style fish thali" along with a fresh lime juice. The staff is very friendly and can speak English and Thai both.

Sri Ananda Bhawan is a treat to our taste buds especially when it comes to authentic Indian Non-Veg. We really enjoyed all the dishes that were tasted here. Vegetarian dishes are good as well, but Non-Veg really stands apart. The Chicken & Mutton we tasted were so tender & delicious. It reminded us of our traditional down south India preparation. They are extremely Consistency, same taste anytime & any day of the year. Courteous staff who can guide you well. Few must-try dishes are - Chicken Curry, Mutton Pepper Fry, Fish Fry, Wheat Parotta, Ceylon Parotta & Kulfi.

Located in a prime area with easy access. If you want to do a darshan of famous Maha Mariam Temple @ Bangkok, you may take the Goddess's blessings & turn over & walk for 2 mins & you will find Sri Ananda Bhawan.

Even if you are staying away from this Hotel, it is still worth traveling & trying out the Authentic Indian Dishes out here.

Overall, a very pleasant experience & fits our purse too (not costly for sure)

Wonderful South Indian Food! We come here once a week. Lots of vegetarian options. Masala Dosa to die for! Awesome food for kids, the staff are so sweet they always make adjustments to the dishes to please my daughter. Chai and nan are also amazing! Sweet people running the restaurant, very good service. We absolutely recommend it! It is a must try if you miss Indian food in Bangkok!:)

Delicious and reasonable priced Indian food close to the Hindu temple on Silom. We loved the Thali and plan to go back to try more dishes on the menu.

One of the best places to have South Indian food in bangkok. Many popular items in kerala is also served here. Chettinad chicken curry was simply superb

I visited today and this time it was very disappointing. (I came again and this happened)
1. Chetinad chicken was not the same as last time. It was badly done.
2. Chicken portion was less in chicken biryani compared to last time.
3. Rasmalai was so so

If you don't Maintain quality and quantity consistency customers will not come back.

Two stars for ruining the experience.

Bones! Bones! Bones!
It was a disappointing experience eating chicken at Sri Ananda Bhawan. Chicken Chettinad allowed us to taste a rich, aromatic gravy which we really enjoyed. Sadly, the chicken had an excess amount of bone and very little meat. There must be a way for us to safely order, on our next visit in December, so that we taste Chicken with a little bone - rather than bones with a smidgen of chicken to pick at. By contrast, the Veg food at this restaurant is a safe bet and recommended.

This is the first restaurant that broadens my horizon about Indian foods and becomes one of my favourites. I have just reviewed it after the 10th visit. The menu is mainly south Indian food. I recommend many dishes, such as chicken Manchurian, mutton pepper fry, mutton Chettinad curry, lemon chicken, chicken tikka masala and chicken 65.

Chicken Manchurian is the best I have ever had in my experience and everybody should not miss it!

The taste of food is consistent over time. Moreover, friendly staffs always provide me with warm hospitality.

In summary, I recommend this restaurant for both newbies and foodies to try.

Tasty Food, Small serves
The food is tasty and tangy. In particular we enjoy the Kerala Chicken Curry and Chicken Chettinad.

Service is good and the restaurant is clean. Prices are competitive and similar to other India Restaurants on Silom Rd, but a bit higher when compared to smaller Indian eateries in nearby soi's.

If you order chicken or meat be aware that apart from the serves being small your chicken or meat will also contain a fair bit of bone - which is the disappointing side of dining at Sri Ananda Bhavan.

The attached picture shows bone from just 1 dish of chicken. A lot of eateries either remove the bone or are careful not to provide only bony pieces tucked away in the curries.

Yes, we do dine here every few months.
