Somboon Seafood / สมบูรณ์ซีฟู้ด เซ็นทรัลเอ็มบาสซี่ reviews
25Somboon was the must visit seafood restaurant whenever I visited Bangkok. Was in bkk for business after 3 years hence decided to visit this branch as it was near to my hotel. Many dishes were not available and noticed that it was much pricer than the older branches that I previously visited. But well, this branch was much more comfortable than the rest.
Highly recommend the fried curry crabmeat. We got the medium and the crabmeat is delicious. One of the best we had in Thailand.
Grilled squid is good too but a bit dry. Fish maw soup is a bit different from the usual Chinese style but solved with vinegar. Vermicelli with pig innards was good but could do with more vermicelli.
SKIP the prawn balls.
Located on the 5th floor of Central Empathy.
Sparkling water 35B, Poo Pat Pong Curry S size 550B, Oyster egg binding S size 220B
It was enough for two couples.
Thank you for the delicious meal
It's delicious. I ate the same menu as the set for 2 tourists.
(Small Pupat Poong Curry, Small Crab Meat Fried Rice, Stir-fried Morning Glory, 2 Glasses of Cola) cost 1,391 baht.
(I remember laughing at each other because two tourists from different countries at the table next to me also ordered similar dishes^^)
I didn't like the crab fried rice with ham in it. Ask for it without the ham.
The curry was delicious. It wasn't the best place, but it was just okay!
I came here because I heard it was a Pupa Pong curry restaurant.
It tastes just right. It feels like cream curry. If I eat a lot, I feel greasy and sick of it.
For 2 people, I recommend Pupipong Curry Boneless Small + Other Dishes + Morning Glory Small.
I thought I would be full after ordering curry!
I ordered 5 shrimp because they said they were small, but the shrimp were big so I was full.
The most delicious Morning Glory I've ever had.
It says it's unfriendly, but it was friendly.
I ate so much poo pad pong curry, fish dish, and fried rice that I was full:)
If you are visiting with two people, don't be greedy and eat a small size of Poo Pad Pong Curry. If you take the medium size, you will be full:) haha.
Their signature curry crab wasn’t as spicy as advertised, it was just overly salty egg sauce served with not a so fresh crab (meat was sticky to the shell so badly). To our dismay, the dish was also served lukewarm.
The steamed fish was also disappointing. Fish meat was also a little mushy and sticking to the bones. The fishy taste was really strong even though we opted for a better fish.
The only saviour of the day was the claypot vermicelli with prawn (prawns were also not fresh but the vermicelli was flavourful) $ oyster omelette, where both dish were served piping hot.
We were also told that Chinese tea was chargeable by pot and you had to pay extra to have more hot water added. The pot could barely serve 3 people.
Definitely not worth what we are paying for.
It's more hectic than I thought, and the taste is just okay. It's worth a visit at least once. The food comes out quickly.
Wonderful crab with incredible source!
BBQ seafood plate is so fresh, must try!
Fried vegitable, deep fried fish, deep fried fish ball, curry shrimp.delicious!
The only thing not that perfect is price, haha
Tourist place, very busy restaurant. Suggest to go earlier or make table reservation in advance. Food was reasonable taste, not super delicious but good. Nice and comfortable dining environment. If you have no time to go to the original branch, then this is the options.
Oh my Lord! This is the second time i visit this place while visiting Bangkok and i can’t recommend it even more!
The food especially the crab is just fantastic! Taste is divine and melts in your mouth! What a pleasant experience!
Somboon @ Central Embassy. Must-come, must-eat on my every trip, first day first meal! Super love the tasty food! Can't get enough of it. After so many years.same workers! Same food same taste same feel! Feels like coming back home (有种回家的感觉).
Very bad service, no one smiles, if I'm not welcomed they could say before offering a seat,
All their food is sweetened or with soy sauce, not recommended if you don't want to have your dessert mixed up with the main course, the second star only for the Tom yom soup
It is the most delicious food I ate in Bangkok.
The clean interior was good. Wait patiently with patience.
The crab and fish were fresh. The egg from the curry crab dish goes well with white rice. The soup from the fish were appetizing. The fish maw soup were nice too. A must try.
By now, here is the best yum dinner place!
A little pricey but not so expensive (appx 30usd/p).
About taste, you will never fail whatever you order.
Disgrace to Somboon, a well known Premium seafood restaurant which serves Vege that is all yellow and over-cooked. Asked to change and it took another 20mins, 3 chasers to serve a plate of stir fry KaiLan which only has thick fat stamps with no leaves. Staff were all low morale with zero passion on customer service. A rare No smiles restaurant in the Land of Smiles.
The food tasted nice; we ordered prawn glass noodles. The glass noodles were super tasty. So turns out the menu was very accurate. The name of the dish was "Prawn Glass Noodles".
There was literally 1 prawn. No gimmicks here.
That bowl cost 600 baht.
I heard the neighbouring table comment: "wah ccb ex". I have no idea what they meant but they didn't seem happy with their noodle.
Used to be a good place a few years ago but now it is very crowded. Service gone down due to the crowd. Flavours still good but not as good as a few years ago.
