A good izakaya style Japanese restaurant that provides comfort food as similar as it roots. Located quite hidden from the main street on the end alley of Sukhumvit 41, this place is definitely a hidden gem. Great value for money and staffs also speak Japanese that would help their patrons immensely. Price is very reasonable and service was also great. I would recommend anyone who happens to pass by this area to come and visit this place at least once.
Turn right at the soi about 200m from Sukhumvit Road and you will find it at the end. I ordered a set of draft beer and grated plum soba. The mug was crispy cold and the beer was very delicious. When I had almost finished drinking the soba noodles, the hiyayakko and tekkamaki set arrived. I wanted the cold one as soon as possible.
Did you have Japanese food for the first time in a while? It was so delicious that I ate it all up right away. The atmosphere was great, so I would definitely like to visit again.
Extremely Japanese place with really good izakaya dishes and lots of soba options. I was only hoping that a place named Sobaq would handmake their own soba. Sadly it tastes like dried soba, though prepared just about as well as it can be. I loved the variety of dishes (tho the sobaq satsuma age was a bit… frozen tasting?)
Great drinks list incl a crazy 89thb dewars highball. Lots of sake and shochu options. Would definitely come with a group.
Mr. Soba Kyu has stable taste and service!
It's close, and the staff are all warmly welcoming, so it's a shop where you can't help but turn your feet. Both soba and snacks are delicious!
It's delicious and you can really feel the aroma of the soba.
One dish of chicken meatballs is hearty and filling
However, no matter how long it took, the soba-yu didn't come, so when I checked, it was there.
There was no soba hot water for the Thai customer next door, so I think it's fatal for the soba restaurant's service.
The air conditioner was broken, so it felt a little hot in the store.
I expect improvement
All their dishes were delicious though there were some tiny points I don’t like.
Service and ambiance were good.
Recommendable to those who wanna enjoy Japanese food in Japanese atmosphere.
Take note their signature dish, fried fish cake was a must order personally, which is the best Japanese fish cake in my life.

Feels very authentic Japanese. Even the restaurant smells like old Japanese restaurants. Many Japanese dining there, so something must be right. Unfortunately, the soba was too hard for me. The rice in katsudon was hard and dry, and the cutlet tasted old and soggy. Definitely had better katsudon even in places like Katsuya.
Was also kind of disturbing that I could see the toilet from my seat. When the door wasn't closed, I could see the toilet bowl. Not the best view for dinner.
Nice and cozy place to dine in! The soba noodles are homemade. Their food is tasty and you can feel like having dinner in a local izakaya bar in Japan. Will try another menu some time else.
This small homey is excellence.for soba as well as other small dishes.
Of course soba is our favorite.but also tempura (shrimp, veggies, and our daughter's fav is squid tentacles) and other small plates (e.g. Cold tofu, edamame, etc.)
The price is reasonable and service is good.
Parking is in the Soi.not so many spaces.
Very cozy and homey Japanese Restaurant deep in soi Sukhumvit 41. Ume Cheese is surprisingly delicious! Sweet, creamy and tastes like yoghurt. I'm not a big fan of Tsukune and rarely eats egg yolk, but here the Tsukune is very good and the egg yolk is very delicious and very fresh. The egg yolk is from Mori-Tama, no doubt why it is sooo soo good. And yess, you can't miss the Cold Soba here, really good and refreshing!
This Japanese restaurant is a hidden gem. Great tempura and good-value rice bowls. What’s even better is they open til very late at night.
Japanese style restaurant, especially Japanese SOBA is good taste.other food is good taste too.
Loved the soba tempura and clam soup! Place was full with local Japanese. With this quality and price, will definitely come back again soon:)
A great soba ya in Bangkok with the Japenese owner. The soba noodle is on average but the tempura is the top notch around Bangkok. DO NOT miss the tempura!
