Slanted Taco (Sukhumvit 23) reviews
30I was actually shocked over how good the food is. As Mexican that grew up in San Francisco’s mission district I am very picky about tacos. They even have a very good burger. Now with the good things said. The taste of such good food is ruined by all the cigar smoke. A restaurant/cigar bar is not a good combination if you don’t want your palate tainted. All the meats they served were great except the pork. Extremely dry and stringy. And the pina colada was tasty but should have been blended not just the drink with full ice cubes in it. As it melts it separates the drink from itself.
Lively place to hang out with your friends. The Waitress was confused with the menu saying the hard shell taco was in fact the soft shell
I went there for dinner. The staffs so nice. (Forgot to ask her name) She gave a great service and recommendation. Fish taco was excellent, Quesadilla was lovely and Burrito was wonderful. There are 40 draft beer on taps. What a place! Definitely will go back again and I do highly recommend this place for everyone. Loved it!
Excellent Mexican cuisine and a lovely chill atmosphere at The Slanted Taco. I ordered the hard shell tacos with avocado, followed by the apple crumble. Both were delicious and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Lots of vegetarian & vegan options. Both locals and tourists seem to eat here and the decor/seating area was really nice and relaxed. Staff were also very friendly.
Amazing place, really Mexican Flavor. The green sauce in the chicken tacos is heaven. Maybe change the spring onion for coriander, but anyway amazing and for a really reasonable price for the quality. Will come back.
Great decor and friendly service. Pork taco was OK, but tortillas not mexican. Not the right place if you're looking for authentic Mexican food.
Really quite delicious margaritas. Fresh lime.not too sweet. Fish tacos similarly were very good. Fresh lightly fried fish.
Staff were very attendant and prompt. Overall quality experience.
If i were to make any changes, it would be to add more spice generally and actual cheese to nachos. But the nachos were pretty good regardless.fresh chips baked.
Tacos are good and tasty but small. Love the spicy sauces they make on their own. Local beer is expensive here.
The chips and guacamole were good, and the things the table ordered were good. However the customer service was really bad. I ordered a chicken burrito, and they brought me a pork burrito. I asked if they could switch it, and they said you can't just eat the pork burrito. Then, I told them I didn't want a pork one. They took the old burrito, and then brought out a new one that was still pork.
From West Coast USA. This is the best Mexican food IV had in all of Asia. Flavors and ingredients are on point. Will come back anytime I'm in BKK
Food is good. We had nachos and chicken wings. Both very good and sizable portion. Just may be too little staff at the time and could be a little slow but not much.
Much better Mexican restaurants in Bangkok, but if you're looking for good craft beer, this is the place as it's connected with the surrounding restaurants. The sangria was pretty decent. They seem to be out of a lot of items on the menu when I went. This is the only picture I have from the restaurant but I want those extra points lol
Mexican is always a fun time. Bright festive ambiance in a small space tucked away behind and to the side of a narrow corridor.
Service ok. Drink glasses unique in shape. Taco ok.
We came here because our preferred Mexican restaurant was fully booked. Reading the reviews of this place convinced us to go here. Long story short: the "mexican" food was tasteless (had a chimachanga) and considering that some of the same herbs and spices are used in the thai kitchen that's a bit odd for me. The nachos were also not of a good standard. My partner's pastrami sandwich was delicious but quite small and served with potato chips. We don't recommend going here for the mexican food. The prices are quite high for what you actually get and it's probably because the restaurant is situated in an area with many tourists.
Easy to get there by MRT and about 10 mins walk. The food is nice. The staff are very friendly. Defenitely worth a try.
Friendly and very helpful staff; they will gladly help you choose the menu. Wide variety of drinks. Food was alright to our expectation, although we ordered one dish that was offered a choice of a lar carte or a bigger combo with rice. Turned out it wasn't that great with the rice. Other than that, atmosphere was nice. Pay with Citi credit card to get a discount of 10%
Good for guacamole and chips but I wouldn’t return for tacos and wouldn’t recommend the combo taco plates. The people are lovely and the place is nice (we made a friend and stayed the afternoon). Lots of local craft beers at 210 baht a glass. That’s steep by Canadian standards and we’re not famous for cheap alcohol. You want good Mexican food try Vietnam.
Taco was very small haha even smaller than my hands OMFG! Taste ok, and look kinda Mexican Mexican food than American Mexican food which is a good thing.
Be reminded that the food in menus is not yet inclusive of vat 7% and service charge 10%.
Enchiladas here are great!
Tacos however is without cheese
Everything else is good and service is great
Guacamole is also really fresh and big portions
Food is very underwhelming and under flavored. Guacamole was quite bland. The 3 tacos set we ordered both chicken and pork are dry, taco was thick n breaks up. Beans and rice could use abit of salt. The fish taco was just ok. Mojito is also quite flat.
Money better spent elsewhere
