47Just beware of their credit card deposits. It’s been over 5 weeks and I still have not had my 30,000 baht deposit returned (BMW 220 M Sport returned 16th Dec 23). When I call to enquire, they say it’s out of their control and is processed by their bank (K Bank) and any future enquiries should be directed to their bank. Have read similar complaints.
Our first time using them because their price was the best compared to other rentals at chiang mai airport.
Guy at the counter was super nice and patient with us. We got a car best suited for us and we couldn’t be happier with the one he gave us. Not only was it clean and at ace condition, but it was also a new model so we could charge our phones etc.
Pick up and drop off were super easy and fast. Definitely recommended
They canceled the online payment and persistently charged a larger amount by 25-30%. I refused to pay, they began to insist that then they would cancel the reservation (I didn’t understand whether the money would be returned or not)
When I said that I would contact the office, suddenly everything worked and they gave me the price that I had booked.
And all this with Sixt Platinum status.
It took an hour and a half to get a car, and I was the only one in line! Service is zero.
I always go to this company to rent a car for my short trip.
I would give it a 5 stars if not for something inconsistence
There was once I pay the rental using my debit card online. Upon collection, they say I need to charge to my credit card as they can only block the deposit using credit card. They say it will take 7 to 9 days for the money to be refund to my debit card. But in the end it take more than a month before I can get my refund.
Then on my next booking, I also used a debit card (both bookings was done at the same time). When I went to collect my card, the staff say is ok if I had already pay using debit card and they will only need my credit card for deposit.
Double standard, no consistency.
This place had a car available same day. They charge you for insurance which they say is required; funny thing is that the contract itself clearly shows it under the "optional charges" category. I showed them that and they waved my concern away and repeated that it was required. They explained that they offered a little discount on the rental rate to make up for that charge (discount is itemized on the contract). I don't know Thailand or how things work here and this was a short notice surprise, I wasn't going to go shopping around so I just accepted it. Shady? Maybe. You should investigate before using this company.
Generally speaking, I don't know if renting a car is worth it in Thailand. You have to pay to fill up before returning the car and that gas will set you back nearly a days' rental rate. This rental was for a Toyota Yaris at 1300 Baht per day (not including tax and insurance lol). 60% tank was 1020 Baht which I purchased at a Shell station. Bangkok traffic is the absolute worst I've ever been in. Bangkok is like Los Angeles but with streets half the size and maybe twice the population. It took me over an hour to travel the last 5 kilometers to reach this provider when I returned the vehicle, resulted in late charge. That means you have to make sure you arrive well in advance when returning the vehicle, this will eat into your travel plans and maps is unreliable in Thailand. Unreliable, how? Because I was able to use a different route that I found on the map which led to a faster trip by 45 minutes.
Worth it? I don't think so. Especially if you're a tourist and unfamiliar with local conditions like flooding and which route to take. Still, getting around wasn't that bad.
A good place to rent car that is clean, in great condition mine was like 16k km which was still new-like BYD Attos 3. Competitive prices to choose from. Would rent again for short trips. Friendly & Helpful staffs too. Just be mindful that they will only accept credit cards only for deposit. The rest can pay with debit card.
We always rent from Sixt. The prices are reasonable and the booking process via the app is good.
Just remember the clean the car before returning if you transported pets in it, otherwise there’s a hefty cleaning fee.
Really poor service! Rented a car for 4 full days but eventually have to return it by mid of 4th day. If late by another 30 minutes.charge another full day! Very inflexible process and system!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO RENT FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE or else you'll get penalized for non-sense!
Been using many car rental providers in BKK (Sukhumvit Area), and Sixt is by far the best in term of booking experience, pricing, customer service and good car. Today itself I got a brand new Honda City, an upgrade from Yaris.
The booking can easily be done through the mobile app, very smooth and transparent. Hassle free.
I’m not sure if it’s a downside but deposit was a big amount but that’s pre authorized to your CC, so it’s okay. Hope Sixt can void them right after the end of rental instead of waiting the issuing bank to release.
Service staff is polite and understanding with no language barrier, demonstrated a pleasant attitude and providing knowledgeable of the car we are renting and explaining details before driving, place is clean and tidy.
The Car we rented is a 2.4L Diesel Toyota Fortuner. Its a new car, interior is sparkling clean with no smell.overall nice and great car to drive from bangkok to khao kho.
Pick up of the car was fine. Bring it back was terrible. Not a good sign where to return the car and also the guard was yelling at us like we are dogs. Not recommending it!

A really excellent Sixt station with very friendly and good English speaking staff. I was already expected at the time of rental and the vehicle was ready for me friendly communication and uncomplicated vehicle handover even the suitcases were lifted into the car. The return was also quick and easy without any problems. The employees here are highly motivated and highly recommended. The station is close to the motorway entrance and therefore quite cheap, even if the area is plagued by traffic jams.
I've been renting cars at Sixt Car Rent for a couple of years now and always they deliver good and clean cars. Not the cheapest maybe but good value for money.
We got a brand new car and I think most of their fleet are quite new, too. Staff are helpful. However, deposit takes a while to be credited back. Their fine print says after 30 days-it is way more than that.
Efficient pick up and drop off. Car was suitable for the booking, clean, reliable and well maintained. Full to full fuel tank policy is my preference, too.
Great experience, rented a Toyota Yaris from Bangkok Rama IV outlet to go to Khao yai. Convenient location to get onto the expressway quickly and without jam.
If there is an appointment to pick up a rental car in advance, it will take a short time to pick up the rental car. The location for this branch is not easy to park because it is quite cramped.
I rented Honda Civic, Honda City and few more cars from them. Whenever I plan to rent a car I check their available cars and prices. They are really good.
Fuss free booking and return service for my BMW X1. I was also able to collect the car 2 hours earlier so that I could set off on my journey to get to my destination before sundown. The pre-departure check was thorough and they noted down the existing minor damage/scratches to the car prior to me taking over, which is well appreciated.
One star less because they are holding back my deposit fee for between 14-60 days. This is way too long - Sixt claims this is their bank holding back and not them (which I don’t think is the case).
I’ll still book from them next time I’m in Bangkok.
