Sangmorakot Muaythai Academy reviews
17 A gym that takes in both fighters and casual students. The trainer 'Top' speaks great English and is one of the most attentive trainers I've had in Thailand.
Casual students come in around 6pm in the evening.
Last year I did a private session with 2 trainers for 1 hour, was fun and the trainers took good care. Today I asked for the same but some guys were just sitting there, told me to start and pay 1000thb
I don’t know what happened but last year was way cheaper and the people seemed more interested in costumers. Felt like a total different gym. Sad
Great muay thai class, i went with my friends i was a complete beginner, the coaches were great and helped with technique. Definitely recommend if your in Bangkok.
I was staying locally for a day and I wanted to shake off the jet lag so I booked in a private. Coach was good, usual private structure: skipping, shadow boxing, technique and 5 rounds pad work. It’s a shame I could not have trained here for longer. Nice little authentic gym, located next to a temple. The pad work was tough, especially with up to 38c. Definitely worth a visit, like all gyms you might rock up to - if you don’t ask you don’t get aka if you want to work clinching just ask.
I definitely recommend this gym, especially if you are intermediate/advance. You can have an authentic muay thai experience, where most of the people are thai, but really welcoming also to foreigners. There are knowledgeable trainers and great fighters there. The boss is really nice and he gave us free tickets to watch one championship.
Unfortunately I had to go to the south and I am training here now, but can’t wait to come back there! See you soon!
It's more self direct class, when the owner is there, you get more direction, when he is not, you mostly do 4 rounds of pads, and your own bag workout, no group stretching, no group drills, no sparring.
It is the most enjoyable place in all my travels. They teach with all their heart and soul, and you can improve your skills tremendously.
It's too bad that I couldn't say goodbye and leave memories with the gym coach and friends I worked out with before leaving for the city center because my phone was broken. I would like to thank everyone who made precious memories. As soon as I came to Korea, I was writing on my laptop, but my heart is still there. I hope to see the gym coaches and Milo and my friends who worked out with me again. I will work hard until we meet next time. Be healthy everyone!
This was the first gym I came to when I hit bangkok. And instantly fell in love, I mean yeah the Thais don’t speak a lot of English but it’s expected! You can’t complain about that, 1 and a half hours training in the morning is more than enough I think in this heat. If you wanna stay do more work they will let you too, so if your not putting the effort in they won’t either.
I have been travelling Thailand for almost three months training here and there tried a lot different Muay Thai gyms but this stand out in positive way. Price was very good I had very nice 4 pad sessions. Gym is located at temple the atmosphere of this place is awesome and at the same time hardcore and pure Muay Thai vibe I loved the gym and will visit it for sure next time it was one of my favourite.
Great teacher.great gym.everything is perfect. If you come to Bangkok, be sure to come and practice Muay Thai.

I'm a Thai, and have trained at several muaythai camps. Sangmorakot is a legit camp. Training is as good as any top ranking camp, and if you want to fight, the camp owner can arrange for you to fight. BTW, training fee is very reasonable. There are several foreign trainees at this camp. Although the camp doesn't have student accommodation, the owner can recommend suitable place to stay to fit your budget. Good and not expensive food is available near camp.
They are friendly, but not used to foreign students. Class is supposed to last an hour but ends after 40 minutes if you let them. Nobody speaks more than 4 words English.
Authentic Muay Thai gym. Trainers adapt to their student's needs, and make the classes fun. Great regardless of whether you're a beginner or an experienced fighter. 2 of their current fighters have competed on the famous 'Thai Fight' promotion
Trading at a traditional Muay Thai academy is an amazing experience. I loved the coache’s instruction, I’m leaning a lot.
Was an awesome teacher! Very patient with my mistakes as a beginner and took his time to teach techniques correctly rather then just quickly moving through them all.
Very bad place.
The teachers don't care about the trainers.
They said 2 hours of training but even not 1 hour left.
Save your money and stay away from this place
Great place to train Muay Thai. Family owned and operated. Always alot of talented fighters and trainers here. You can train by day, week or month.
