Punjab restaurant reviews
17Excellent service and reasonable taste of food they provide within an economical range which allows you to have Indian food which is usually quite on the higher side in Thailand but here they are preparing some really good food items I had tried their butter chicken and garlic naan along with a Coke and my total bill was 350 baht which is amazing
We ordered below:
1. Dal makhni - it was good.
2. Chana masala - okayish, could be better as it’s a proper punjabi dish
3.makke roti was really good.
4. Garlic Naan was okayish
5. Rasmalai - great.
6. Pani puri - worst experience.they just stuff boiled aloo and boiled chick peas with sweet chutney. Do not order pani puri here.green chilly water tasted weirdly different.atmosphere was nice, we enjoyed.
There is a worker there, probably his name is mack, he does not have the manners to talk to the customer. He tells the customer the rate of the packing material and seems to be something.
Good variety of indian food. Tried their Chhole Bhature. Although the chhole were a bit sweet for my palette, can't expect more while you are in a foreign land searching for indian food
Ambience is good.if the weather allows, dine outside the restaurant.
Like all Indian restaurants, this restaurant had the similar approach to their curry and gravy based foods. The base of the gravy/curry is usually frozen in the freezer, and whenever a customer orders, for example, Chicken curry, they add that frozen gravy to their already boiled chicken and add a little bit of seasoned garam masala to it and half a tomato and allow it to simmer for a while before serving to the customers. Let's not forget that Indian gravies/curries also contain a decent amount of sugar to please their non-Indian customers. Moreover, most foreigners don't know that most Indian restaurants add long beans and capsicum? To almost all gravy based or curry based veg items which non-Indian customers don't usually notice.
The truth is, I hate the use of long beans and capsicum to the foods that I order from any Indian restaurant. If they still add that, they know that they are cheating. They add those to avoid adding more vegetables to the ordered items to that cuisine.
If someone truly likes to taste the real curry/gravy based foods, then I will recommend them to taste Pakistani foods. Why do I suggest that? Because,
Indian curries are also creamy with their use of onion and coconut milk in contrast with Pakistan's main curry ingredients being solely garlic, tomatoes and ginger which doesn't usually develop a thick sauce but marinates the meat instead. There's no sugar in Pakistani curries.
Try Pakistani restaurants near Silom/Bangrak areas and order "Mutton Karhai" in your order with plain Naan and thank me later.
Probably my perosnal favourite India restaurant in Bangkok so far if not the best. Not too pricey but very tasty.
Chana masala, milk cake and veg thali were absolutely great. Only two criticisms I have are that there were no onions with delivery orders and gulab jamun tasted a bit like fried garlic. Apart from that it's fantastic.
Nice service, watching indian dance video in TV while dining
Had a sheep thali which spicier than I expected, the owner explained that sheep dish usually needs more spice. All in all it is a nice meal, full of spice which I love!
Best hotel in Chinese market affordable price
Try veg thali it’s a great for 2 person Awesome food quality
We had dinner here, butter chicken and chicken tahli were delicious, as well as butter nan? The food had flavor and savor and wasn’t too spicy. Prices are reasonable for such great food. We had 3 courses, 2 waters and mango lassi and paid ~730 thb. The place itself looked clean and service was good. Highly recommended!
We had a vegetarian masala dosa and two lassis, one sweet and one mint. Both the lassis were good; I'd never had a mint lassi, but it was refreshing. The masala dosa was fine.
On the less positive side, they seemed to be out of a number of items: no mango lassi, no meat options for the dosas, and our masala dosa had only two of the three sections of the plate filled.
Also, the server has less than friendly. Quite a change from the usual Thai warmth.
Tasty food, has some nice south indian options and lots of vegeterian stuff for my girlfriend.
My wife and I had lunch here for the second time and we were once again very satisfied with both the service and the excellent food. Hana and Jiri.
I came for dinner with my friends. I love the service at the place and the chef is so friendly with the guests and always takes care to offer the best quality! I highly recommend this place.
Best Best place to eat Indian food. This place is like finding water in middle of desert. After 4 days found a place to feed my mouth to show its own real tast.
