The gym is a clean, high quality facility and I'll share my experience, even though I trained here only once.

After warm up I had 3x5 min of pad work with an exceptionally good trainer and in these 15min I learned a lot. After that I was pretty much left alone for the following 2 hours and spend the rest of the time doing heavybag, shadowboxing and 2 rounds of sparring with another student. This would be acceptable, if the single class wouldn't cost 1000 baht.

I don't know if this is the usual way this gym works, or if they simply didn't have enough teachers for that day, but I really wanted to learn more for the money I spent. The teacher, who I did pad work with, was occupied for the rest of the class but let me watch the pad session he had with another student and tried to explain some things to me. The other trainers were occupied as well.

But still, since 1000 baht is a lot of money, I probably won't come again tomorrow

Trained here for a week and loved it! Breez was a great technical trainer, helping me improve my foundational skills. The trial today costs 350 baht (about 10 usd), and then you can opt for unlimited group classes at 3000 baht for a month. We were only there for a week, but I went there everyday, so it was well worth it!

There is a space with 2 rings, bags, and also a gym with 2 bathrooms w/ showers (do bring your towels!).

Right now as Covid is easing out, there are 4 group classes a day: 12pm, 1: 30pm, 6pm and 7: 30pm. The class are 1h30 min.

The format of the class is: 5 min running, 5 min skip rope, 5 min shadow boxing, stretching, 3 sets of 3min of 1: 1 training with the trainer, freestyle with the bags, push kick + knee-ing the bags for a few sets, strength training, stretching! Sometimes they have 2 trainers when the class size is big. Otherwise there's only one!

You do have to book in advance. They recommend 4 hrs in advance because of Covid, there is lower traffic, so they have to book their trainers at least 4 hrs in advance. I personally booked my schedule via Facebook Chat. They are very responsive.

If you need to buy wraps (250 ish baht), gloves (3150 ish baht), shorts, water and other equipment, they do have it at their lobby. If you are adamant for a specific style or spec, recommend you to let them know in advance so they can pre-order and/or save it for you.

They also offer lodging, the space is super nice and clean with air con. This also includes meals apparently!

We stayed at the SCENE Bangkok Noi Hotel nearby. There's a way where you can walk through a village that built their houses on top of the water. Or, I prefer walking by the highway.

I have trained at around 20 muay thai gyms in thailand, and have never seen unprofessionalism like this. I wanted to try a fighters class today, but when I arrived, I was told I had to wait for somebody at the front desk to help me. After waiting for 20 minutes, some guy showed up and asked me about the covid test. I didn't mind overpaying for a quick test, but then the skiny guy told me, I had to pay more because I couldn't join the fighters class. I said I had fought in the past and didn't need a fitness class or a private class. He smirked at me and started talking to another costumer. The conversation ended and I had to leave and go to another gym that was much cheaper and allowed me to clinch and spar with the class. So, if you are not a famous fighter and dont have abs at the moment, avoid this gym. There are plenty of gyms where you can train with fighters for a normal price.

The gym was great, new equipment and clean. The day pass was 180 bat, and we had the gym to ourselves. They open at 8.30. It had what we needed, maybe there wasn’t the greatest variety of equipment, but for us it was completely fine. You even got a towel! There was also air con, which was a first for us in Asian gyms. It’s a bit remote, so you have to know it’s there

I wouldn't have recommended this gym to any foreigner when I was there in 2015. It had just opened up to foreigners and was very focused on in-house Thai fighters. As a foreigner, you did your own thing and sometimes had to nag one of the instructors for pad work. We weren't really part of their circuit. But I did get some great clinching in with the Thai fighters and met some cool guys. I'm sure it has evolved.

Writing review in response to the negative review below. I've been here over a month now and will be here another three or so.

What he said is not relevant (at least in 2017). I've never once had to bug a trainer to do pad work with me. If you want to work out with the Thai fighters, you can just ask them. If you want to do the same exercise that they are doing, just hop in. There's a foreigner here right now that spars with the Thais on a daily basis (he's more advanced than most of the foreigners that roll through). Obviously trainers might care about their local fighters more than a foreigner who comes for a short period but it is simply not true that you can't train on the same level.

Also, accommodations are very nice, food is good, and wifi works great. I'm an exchange student and petchyindee is way nicer than the place most of my school friends stay at.

P. S.

If by any chance you're an exchange student who wants to live at a Muay Thai gym and will be studying at Thammasat (tra pra chan campus), Petchyindee is the move!
