Best bar for music on Soi Cowboy. They usually have the better bands. Fun and safe place. Do not let your guard down around the freelance girls. Always be careful. Do not wear expensive jewelry around Soi Cowboy or other nightlife areas.

I thought there might be a band I've known for a while, so I popped in.
Then, he appeared in the second group. There were two female singers and a male vocalist, and everyone was in a good mood because they were familiar with the songs.
When I talked to her after it was over, she remembered and we snapped together.
It's the best live house I've ever been to.

This is a fun place I end up after working late, often. The service is great, live music is fantastic, alcohol is legit (which is rare in bars here which open late). There is also a club on 3rd floor and a lounge type area on 2nd. They accept cards and handle them well. Bartenders are friendly. No racism of any kind, which is refreshing for Bangkok!

Had always good experiences, was a lot in this club spending a lot money. But today a security did not let me upstairs and wanted money. Very crazy guy and using his position. Dear manager, check your security. Big fat ugly guy on second floor security today on 28.11.at midnight

Really enjoyed this bar. Staff great, band really good. Upstairs gets lively later in the evening. No hassling for drinks. Highly recommend.

The reviews are confusing because Penny Black is a live music bar on the first floor and a nightclub upstairs. The nightclub opens late and the live music bar closes at 2am. Some of the live bands are good, but others are mediocre. I understand that they don't get a salary from the bar, but some band members are too demanding when it comes to tips. A beer is around 150 Baht for customers. The staff may give you subtle hints if you drink too slow. But I did not feel heavy pressure. Unfortunately, Bangkok is full of deadbeat foreigners who try to leave without paying their bill. I saw several guys trying to leave without paying. So the staff may demand that you pay for your drinks when you receive them.

You can buy drinks for the female staff. One drink costs 200 Baht. They are waitstaff. I don't think they are bargirls so they will usually not flirt with you. And I doubt that they are available.

Too bad for Penny Black, I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for some band members begging for tip all the time. And they'll openly complain if you tip 20 Baht. And it's the female band members complaining. The males don't complain.

My experience was great. I had been there recently three times during my Bangkok trip. The drinks were reasonably priced and there was no concept & pressure of buying lady drink. The live music was awesome and it will make you stand up & dance. I will highly recommend to visit here if you want good drinks and electric live music. The staff too was very professional. I will visit again in my next Bangkok trip here.

This my favourite place to party in Bangkok. Every time I go there I always have so much fun that it makes me want to cry.
Entrance fee: There is no entrance fee (wouldn't mind if they charged it cos the place is worth it).

ID: They check your passport at the door (you can show them a copy on your phone too).

Music: The DJs can read the room! They play music according to what the crowd wants so you'll dance until you get tired. The last time I went there my friends had to drag me out, that's just how much fun I was having.

Service/treatment by staff: They don't discriminate against foreigners, in fact the last time I was there I was dancing in front of the DJ and he started playing big songs by African artists (he looked so proud when he saw me going crazy). I just love it there.

Time: Get there at around 1: 30am, that's when the vibes go up. I'm South African, I don't leave until they switch off the music or a bouncer taps me on my shoulder lol

The live band is nice. Went here on Friday night they only have happy hours until 8pm. But other bars extend happy hours to 10pm.
The bar is nice inside, comfort seat, nice and cold draught beer. Service is so so. They don't hear or see you. Have to call several times. The price is ok but you can find other place cheaper in soi cowboy.

Cool club with great vibe and very attentive staff. I will have a lot of fond memories about this place:) We went there three times during our stay at Bangkok, including new years Eve. The last time was just right before the flight back.ended up dancing to BonJovi: D did not expect that.

I danced with friend at 3nd floor. It was like a night club vibes with electronic music. It was fun.

It gets packed, its dark and smokey and will most likely catch covid here as the ventilation is not that great. But it does open late and let you party on if that's what you want

A dark and dirty place full with stupid crowd which was perfectly fit for them. Boring music, small tiny dance floor and the most dangerously dirty toilets.

3rd floor is definitely night club vibes. It's always packed.especially late at night. Super hard to dance. 2nd floor has more room to move but you'll definitely come out smelling like a cigarette. Place is packed full of foreigners.but it is open late.

Tight and very basic management of the space. The club is easily crowded and moving around becomes pushing and pulling.

Go to the 2nd floor (3th floor in Thailand) and you'll find a very packed club with both Thai and foreigners.

Not enough space sometimes. They should open second floor too. And many drunk tourists. But it's legend place
