Patumwan House reviews
36 I have never seen a standard room with such big setup! A small panty area, a full size fridge with freezer. I guess due to the old structure, the walls are thick and therefore we slept very well unlike the newer hotels where u could hear your neighbors showering or watching which channel of TV prog! Location is great.
The minus points therefore the 4 stars are, the shower is located at such odd placement that we had to perpetually sticked to the wall when bathing. The water system can be improved as it turned cold n hot while u were showing. Basic toilet amenities. Room facilities of USB port not available. Not even the asia electricity port, had to borrow 1 from the counter. Bearing in mind, hotel only accepts cash, didn't expect that and therefore was short of cash for my other plans. Staff were friendly and pleasant.
Overall was a pleasant stay.
We chose this place before our checkin into another hotel. The place allowed us early check-in at 6 AM. We had to give a 500 baht refundable deposit for the visit and the rooms were very decent. The hotel was old but for our temporary stay it was worth the money for the day.
Customer service by two young ladies at the front desk was horrible. They didn’t know I speak Thai and were bad mouthing my family in front of us. They preferred to sit on their phones instead of trying to help me check in and answer additional questions. They were very annoyed about questions of laundry service and hailing taxis.
Poorly maintained hotel rooms.
AC unit leaked along the walls and dripped into the floor. We needed to find a box and plastic bag to hold the water. Informed of issue and nothing was done. Hot water shower unit would not be stable and do freezing cold and scorching hot. It burned my children and when I asked for repair service. They said non was available and no other rooms available as well.
Very enjoined the classic eccentric experience here. Service and staffs are good.
Note: This hotel only accepts cash payment.
Enjoyed the stay here. Great location with bts station and 7-11 nearby with just walking distance. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.
A nice hotel with 5 mins walking distance to National Stadium. You can walk to Siam Discovery, Siam Centre, Siam Paragon and Central World through Skywalk.
The facilities are rather old. The room does not have a key card so you need to take a bulky key with you the whole time. The service was just correct, it could be friendlier. The worst point for me was the bed, the mattress was quite uncomfortable for me, but may also be a matter of personal taste. I give the two stars because the location was very close to Siam, and because they allowed us to check in a bit earlier.
Very nice hotel in a quiet yet central area. Few minutes walk to 2 BTS lines, shopping centre and street food stalls.
Rooms are very clean and quiet. The staff are super nice and always available! Would definitely stay again! Highly recommended.
A slightly dated and tucked away hotel but just a few hundred meters from MBK and BTS stations. Rooms are large with a kitchenette included at a very reasonable rate per night. Kitchenette does now contain crockery / cutlery but has full sized fridge freezer, sink. Room has plenty of storage space and a good air con system to keep you cool. We booked in 4am after overnight bus from up north and 24 hour reception so no problem. Would recommend if location and budget a factor. Our room has, a balcony but no view although you can get a city view if you upgrade.
Very nice. Good staff with friendly and welcoming smiles. Canal taxi is great. BTS out the door. And some pictures for you to help with your decision.
This is now my "go to" place in Bangkok.
Room is spacious, clean, comfortable, and inviting. Staff was helpful and polite to me despite what others have said. Location is great with mass transit close by, and shopping only a short walk away.
I not only recommend this hotel, but will stay here again when i return.
Pretty decent hotel and very big rooms for the price. Located in a great area in Bangkok for shopping. The staff are very helpful and nice. Will definitely be back here in the future.
Nice place and comfortable near BTS skytrain close shopping mall food course and take boat tour along canal hind of the hotel
I stayed in the Suite room with my parents and sister, total of 4 persons.
Generally, I would recommend this hotel to others.
Pros:
• Quiet and peaceful
• two bedrooms with two bathrooms - one common bathroom and one inside one of the bedrooms
• both bathrooms have a bathtub
• Suite is clean and spacious
• Lots of cupboards and drawers and storage space
• Free oreo biscuits replenished daily
• Friendly staff and security officer who are able to speak and understand simple English
• Body wash and conditioning shampoo provided on daily basis
• Big fridge
• Water heater and water pressure ok
• Wifi speed acceptable
• Aircon ok
Cons:
• Traditional button door lock for main door
• Only one room key provided
• bath towel is a bit old so bring your own if you want
• Walking distance to Ratchathewi and National Stadium BTS (in between both stations) so be prepared to walk if you want to take BTS
• No toothbrush and toothpaste provided; bring your own
• No utensils provided
• No microwave oven in the room
Very spacious room with nice interior and super friendly staff. Location is quiet but in walkable distance to sky train station and shopping malls. Five stars for this place!
Cozy hotel to the max! Had vast room, eclectic area and accessible from anywhere in downtown bangkok.takes about 10 minutes walked to MBK, siam discovery.takes about 12 minutes walked to siap paragon
Ok for a short stay. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, but the interior is old and not well maintained. So it's a bit overpriced in the beginning of the high season (as many hotels in Bangkok)
The hotel is okay i stay there 7 days the hotel location down a alley street lift turn in a dead end, however it is very easy to get transportation they would call for you taxi or you can walk about 3 minutes to the main street where you can find it all the is in the center of Bangkok it in very good location many restaurants and shopping malls. The restaurant in hotel is fair with somewhat good food nice clean room, but the wall is not sound proof you can hear everything going on in the next room and throughout the hotel. But overall i would stay again if there nothing else.
Loving the design of the hotel. The room us large enough and provided with all the basic necessities.
Patumwan House is a good option for families or friends looking for basic accommodation without the frills. Although the hotel looks dated in appearance, its rooms are spacious and clean. Beds and pillows are relatively comfortable too. Hua Chang Pier is also conveniently located nearby, providing an economical and convenient mode of transport to the Pratunam area (9 baht) and more.
