Oakwood Residence Sukhumvit 24 Bangkok

Even with a great location, this hotel is not worth the stay. Here are also photos if you need more convincing.

The rooms are not just old, they are dirty and not well maintained at all. Highly recommend to avoid at all cost. I booked 4 nights, stayed 1 and changed the rest to a better hotel right down the street.

They couldn’t even give me a new room because they said they were fully booked.

1. Floors were extremely dusty that the bathroom turned black
2. Bedsheets were not clean and had stains. Front desk also did not step up fast enough to rectify.
3. Drain flies in the bathroom.
4. Furniture breaking apart
5. Bathroom full of mold and not well cleaned.
6. Aircon is old and noisy, with evidence of leaks.
7. The fridge in the room was extremely noisy and kept us up all night.

Horrible experience! Booked here looking at the Oakwood name attached to it and assumed it would be similar to the opposite building which is Oakwood suites. No where near comparison. Old and outdated rooms, ac did not work all night, no hot water in the morning and to top it off horrible and rude staff at the reception who did not bother with our problems and were not willing to help with anything

Although the building is old, it was clean and nice.
All the staff were kind.
When I told them I wanted to smoke, I was told that I could smoke next to the entrance, but that if I took the elevator at the emergency exit from the 5th floor, went to the 8th floor, and went up one emergency staircase, I could smoke by the pool on the rooftop. He happily told me that the night view and sunrise are beautiful.
Also, since I was going to Chiang Mai from Don Mueang Airport, I told them that I wanted to be at the airport by 9am, and they called a private driver and told me the price including expressway tolls in advance (it was the perfect price), I have nothing but gratitude.
There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room, so even if you don't have breakfast, you can heat up the side dishes and fried rice you brought home at night, and there are tableware, so it's not an inconvenience. Access is good and cost performance is good.

I originally booked a 7-night stay on agodag a few months ago. On the day of check-in, my friend in Bangkok thoughtfully sent red and white wine to the hotel I booked. The counter told my friend that my accommodation reservation was cancelled, and my friend told me When I said this, I was dumbfounded. This accommodation order had not been canceled and had been paid. I asked Agoda customer service to negotiate for a while, but Agoda did not cancel my order. The customer service said privately that the hotel felt that the price I booked here was too cheap. And they oversold, so they kicked my order away. Although agoda later helped me find another hotel, it felt very bad to be treated like this, and the hotel said that agoda had not contacted them. It feels like the hotel and the booking website are talking about different things. If my friend hadn’t gone to the hotel to deliver drinks today, I would have collapsed when I went to the venue and encountered this situation. Before this, I was physically and mentally exhausted after a week of business trip abroad

The good.
-Comfortable amount of room, inside the room itself.
-Nice simple pool
-Has a gym in the basement that is never busy
-Friendly staff
-Location close to nice malls
-Lots of vegan /vegetarian options in the area

Areas to improve.
-Food options are okay, but limited for breakfast.
-No WiFi signal by the pool
-Building just feels old, you can sense the age
-Gym needs better ventilation
-House keeping just does the express clean up
-Can't earn membership points

Comfortable and Convenient Stay at Oakwood Residence, Bangkok.

This hotel is conveniently located a few minutes away from the subway station, a shopping mall, and plenty of restaurants. The room was comfortable and spacious, with all the amenities needed for our short stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating. This is a great place to stay if you are traveling to Bangkok for work - they even have free Wi-Fi.

While the building and decor are quite old, the prices are reasonable and the place is cozy. Never expect fancy hotels here. I got the impression that there are more residents than tourists. It remains quiet for its location. The rooftop pool is small and pond-like, but also very cozy on the roof in the evening.

A small service apartment along Sukhvumvit 24, a super busy road. 5 mins walk to Phrom Phong BTS station. Within 10 mins walk r The emporium mall, opposite is The Emquartier mall, few massage shop at reasonable price, 7-11 (1 of them is a big one) just below Hilton hotel, a few restaurant) Korean bbq, Japanese ramen run by japanese, Thai cheat eat opposite side of the main road, bakery near BTS station, coffee kiosk at BTS station also a nail salon. Whatever u need, u be able to find there. Super good location.
Downside is the room, is kind of old. Aircon not working well, bed alittle soft, 2 soft lousy pillow. Service is good, room is reasonable size. Comes with stove, microwave, big fridge, pots n pans, cutlery, plates n bowls, knife, wine opener, wine glasses is a plus! Very details! Even hv tongs n protection? To get yr food from microwave. Shower super powerful, rain shower always dripping water but not a issue to me. Overall rating l would give a 85/100.

Great pet friendly hotel with excellent location. Some rates include the pet fee so make sure to book direct with the hotel to take advantage of this. Otherwise you will need to pay extra especially if booking through agents online like Expedia. The rooftop area is great for taking dogs to walk around if you don’t want to take them on the streets. The hotel is located in central Bangkok next to Emporium and Emquartier shopping malls so there’s no parks (although even then dogs aren’t allowed in most of Bangkok parks anyway) so it’s good there’s the rooftop. The hotel itself is a budget option so don’t expect luxury but the rooms are very clean, well maintained and designed well. We’ve already booked another stay here for when we return to Bangkok in September.

This is the worst hotel to stay with a dog!
When we arrived at check-in, we were asked to pay 1,500 THB (~$50) for cleaning up after the animal. We were here for one night, why such a price? After payment, we were told the restrictions: the dog cannot walk with its paws in the lobby and corridors, you can only use the service elevator.
There is not a single place for walking near the hotel, everything is covered with asphalt. The staff only took money from us, after that they were not interested in solving our problem.
The only thing I can advise the hotel is to remove the "stay with pets" service and no longer embarrass yourself!
I will never come here again!

Checking in here for 1 week after long drive from Khao Yai.

Definitely disappointed with such a big brand like Oakwood. First, they gave us dirty room, with hairs on the bedsheet, they send us someone they claim as housekeeping, no uniform, no wash hands before touch all of our pillows, with a very contrast marketing flyer next to bed “Oakwood 360 clean” totally embarrassing marketing strategy. The “housekeeping” call receptionist and they said no room available to change, and we let him open the bedsheet, under the bedsheet they found again another hairs! THIS IS COVID AND YOU HAVE NOT PUT HYGIENE AS NUMBER ONE?

I’m someone who work in hospitality industry and clearly knows how occupancy running in BKK so far specifically, and if you guys as team keep ignorance, you all will loose your job due to your team either got covid because poor hygiene or your owner close the business.

They move us to another room next door, so see, clearly poor ignorance team member and lying to guests even it’s about hygiene. And now in new room with very noisy aircon (i have recorded the video) and old hairdryer (it’s showing small fire when you move the cable), totally, far from Oakwood brand.

Speak to me in the morning, refund to me and I Will happily move to other nearby hotel, if you cannot prepare better room with high standard hygiene, no noisy AC and normal hairdryer without any room maintenance error. What made me not happy is your claiming about Hygiene and Room occupancy until you ignore the health for your own guests.

On the way, we have stopped here. Waiting for check-in, there was a welcome drink. And we could take our cat with us. A pet friendly place to stay. Good service, staff Helped us to lift the things up to the room. We have stayed at room 5041. The room is big and clean, and a wide bathroom. There is also a kitchen to cook. Thank you for welcoming us to this wonderful accommodation. We will be back for sure.
