NIST International School reviews
29Nist is a great school with very nice students. Nist also has very good education with lots of sports. The teachers are nice and teach the kids to be responsible and creative. Nist secruity guards are also nice. To add on nist also has 3 entrances.
Extremely condescending attitude from their admission people. Their first question was the nationality of my children. Not concerned with helping and or resolving educational needs. I could not even escalate my issue as they would not let me do so.
NIST is an excellent school that encourages and supports its students to grow and develop into amazing and excellent human beings. It is located at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 15, which anybody can access either by walking into Soi 15 and going straight all the way or taking the khlong boat and exiting off at Nanachat station which will take you into the end of Soi 15. NIST is also home to the Falcons sports team, which has found success in many sports competitions that they compete in, such as BMAC, consisting of many international schools in metropolitan Bangkok, and SEASAC, one of NIST’s biggest tournaments or competitions. SEASAC is an athletic conference in which teams of international schools from all over the Southeast Asian region compete in. NIST has luckily had the chance to host SEASAC multiple times in many different sports such as swimming and volleyball. The New International School of Thailand continues to support its students to become sustainable much-loved, accepted and accepting, and kind global citizens.
Are you looking for a school with learn and fun? Then Nist International school will be just for you. My opinions are that the teachers
are very funny and great. And from Y3 they go to the cafeteria. The Nist system are divided into Early year, elementary, secondary. Sometimes the secondarys come to elementary to talk about what they do. My ratings are 5 out of 5. And I recommend your daughter and your son go to Nist.
By byI hope you see you again.
I attended NIST from EY2 through Year 9, and I had a positive academic
experience there. However, the school underwent substantial social changes,
particularly after post-COVID-19. These social shifts heavily impacted my
life, and I ultimately decided to leave NIST mid-year 9.
I have since joined another full International Baccalaureate (IB) school,
and I'm thrilled with my new social and academic environment. However, even
after a year, I continue to experience bullying via social media from
current NIST students.
Out of all the international schools my kids have gone to in the three countries we have lived in, NIST has been by far, their favorite. The quality of education, the facilities, the extracurriculars, and the community members (staff, teachers, parents and students) are the reasons why they will always love NIST.
This school does not care about their neighbors. They will blast music in the morning on a Saturday. And I’m on the 40+ floor and I can hear “boom boom boom” even with my doors closed. That’s how loud the music is. So inconsiderate. I hate this school.
One of the better run International schools mainly catering to civil servants from the many Embassies in the area.

There are better schools out there. In addition, it’s school is located in Bangkok’s red light district. Too many creepy old men around here.
I was enrolled at NIST from 2014-2018 and 2020. All I can say is that it is the best school I’ve been to. Teachers and students are amazing, food is great and facilities are top notch. NIST has always had a special place in my heart and I look forward to rejoining soon in year 9.
For the 8 years that I've been at NIST, it has brought nothing but positivity and pure happiness. Its incredible how open, friendly and caring everyone is to everyone. The teachers are extremely good at teaching and made every single lesson fun. Its so unfortunate that I had to leave at the end of year 8.
Don't take this review super seriously since my nostalgia is overcrowding any objective opinions I may have, but I had a very enjoyable time in elementary school here. Very large campus and made great memories, can't speak for any of the higher grades or any of the academic areas though lol but still I can't overstate enough how much I miss this place, loved it here ;) Thanks for helping make my younger years so great
I've been to 7 schools and NIST was the best. I have no words for NIST; its community, diversity and environment; any word to appreciate it would fall short. I wish I could have graduated from NIST. I miss NIST so much and would love to find a way to contribute to my alma mater as an adult.
Best school ever!
The teachers treat you with respect, they make learning actually fun, would recommend going here!
We pulled our kids out of NIST in 2018, which pretty much says it all. We found there was a general lack of rigor and felt the children are not really expected to behave or treat one another well. I am not particularly sensitive to either of these issues, but there are a lot of good schools in Bangkok and this school misses the mark IMO. Speaking with other parents at birthday parties and the like, a couple expressed concerns their kids had "lost ground" after coming out of programs elsewhere and might not be prepared to go back. That is a startling and sobering realization to have as a parent, but it was entirely believable witnessing my own kids' lack of growth.
We have had our kids in five different international schools over the years and about halfway through the first term we started to doubt our NIST choice. The website and brochures looked amazing and the admissions team spoke to differentiated lessons and world citizenship. We found little of either being promoted beyond the marketing campaign. By the end of the year, my wife and I bit the bullet, paid an entirely new set of admission fees for another school across town and voted with our (children's) feet.
Throughout their first year, it was very hard to track what the kids were working on/learning/doing at school. We confided in the teachers that we like to have dinner conversation that encourages the kids' efforts in the classroom, gives us an idea of their understanding on the material, and perhaps even sets up ways to complement the schoolwork with reinforcement from the real world. Without a lesson plan, blog, email home, or return of completed schoolwork, we really had no idea what was expected of our kids. More importantly, our kids had little idea what was expected of them. The school never complained, but our kids seemed listless and bored, not switched on for school. I understand that getting kids excited about school is no easy task, but the best schools DO it. The new school they attend DOES it.
This is a long review, but is not intended to be a rant. The teachers are nice, the campus has lots to offer and the IB graduates seem to be coming out with good college offers. My kids have told us they are happier at the new school, so that pleases me as a parent, but we do think they are also getting a better education, which ultimately drove our decision to leave.
I have worked here for 5 years and NIST is a school that is always improving. They also have a caring community which makes it a great place to work.
I went to NIST International School 2 times. In October 2017, I went there when I was did internship at JUMP Foundation 1 time and In May 2019, I attend SENIT Meeting and I was helping registering for the event! Great School!
I applied for NIST a few months ago before 2018 ended, and to be completely honest, when I met some of the staff for the assessment/tour I already knew it was a great school. The positive energy that everyone gives off is a really comforting feeling, and I have no idea if I got in or not, regardless, NIST is an extremely welcoming and friendly place. Hoping for the best and a definite recommend!
Best international school right in the heart of Sukhumvit. Look no further if you’re looking for the best and most dedicated teachers.
