Mexicano reviews
63Best Mexican in Bangkok. Guacamole made at your table, excellent fajitas and tacos. The music can be a little loud and decoration slightly tacky but the food is to die for!
Delicious Mexican food with quick service! The guacamole station was a nice touch and the margaritas were good. A tad on the pricey side.
Mexicano at the Rembrandt has a rocking Sunday brunch buffet complete with live Mariachi band and a wonderful array of Mexican favorites among the finest in the city. Probably the first Mexican restaurant in the city and an introduction to this fascinating cuisine to Bangkok residents when it was named Senor Pico some years back, the restaurant is still going strong. This grilled beef with cheese and sauces had sliced beef on a bed of peppers, vegetables and mixed in with sticky cheese in a stone bowl. Love the cheese and veg mixture with spices and salsa that just brings everything to the finish line. Mexicano is a lively, fun afternoon, better with tequilas and margaritas.
My girlfriend and I went here on friday night. At first I was a little nervous to look at the prices judging by the hotel and appearence of the restaurant but was pleasently surprised.
We were greeted by Fabien, the dircector. He was absolutely lovely and looked after us throughout the night along with the staff.
Not only was the food absolutely delicious but the vibe was absolutely fantastic. Everyone salsa dancing, laughing and having fun. After a couple of tequila shots we were up on the dance floor putting everyone to shame (not).
Highly recommend. Great staff, great food & and overall a fantastic night.
See you again soon.

Amazing Mexican food, you must try the quesadilla with beef or the traditional quesadilla with mushrooms, in México this are actually Chinichangas. For main dish, alambre is very tasty, my favorite. For dessert you must try arroz con leche, rice with milk.
After chef Carlos left food consistency is a hit or miss. Pls get another Mexican chef and make Mexicano great again. @ Fabien Boissonade; it certainly did not satisfy me anymore, perhaps because I am Mexican and know nothing about Mexican food. As said in my review, when you had a Mexican chef named Carlos, food was quite good, in my past 3 visits I got different variations in both presentation, ingredients and portion of the exact same dishes. My Thai wife also noticed the difference. Nothing personal. Cheers.
Let me start by saying I definitely recommend Mexicano. The food is great. The service is very friendly. However, at times it can be a bit over attentive to the point of disrupting conversations with the frequency that staff attend to the table. Despite this, a pleasant dining experience.
Amazing, great atmosphere and delicious food (and huge portions!). Really great find and will definitely be back again. We went as a couple but it would definitely work for groups too!
Always a pleasure to visit: trendy but unmistalable Mexican atmosohere with a carefully curated menu: guacamole to die for and exceptional iterations of classics like tacos, burritos, chimichangas and flautas. The resident band will help you burn those extra calories from your meal with infectious Latin rhythms.
In our opinions, this is the best Mexican food in town. We recommend the dinner menu, but may need a reservation in advance.
Good atmosphere (especially with live music) and fresh made Guacamole. Food (especially lamb) was better last time.
Way better than when it was formerly called Senore Pico. Authentic Mexican feel to the place and I've been to MX many times. There was even tango dancing happening at the adjacent bar on Floor 1 of the Rembrandt Hotel.
Plenty of people when I visited. Still the service was good, and what matters the most was the food, which was very well presented and the taste was equally good. Loved the food. I would recommend. It's at ideal location. And yes still there is room for improvement.
Would be 5 stars if it was consistent. First time ordered the beef burrito and it was the best burrito I've ever eaten, super cheesy and not much rice - amazing. Ordered again another time and it was so disappointing, hardly any cheese and lots of flavorless rice - the beef was still nice but I dont think I'd order again as its not so cheap.if it was consistent in quality maybe
Food extremely tasty and well presented, table service by Poo friendly and prompt. But Louise on front of house was what made my day her advice of choice of my meal and knowledge of the menu is first class. I can not eat hot and spicy and the Prawn wraps were delicious. Well done to all
This was one of my favorite places back when it was still called Senor Pico. Seems like they have the same good food but same challenges as before: sometimes it's spot on and others it's a miss. Hope they can get down the consistency because it's a real gem for Mexican food in BKK.
After a long day exploring Bangkok we came to have a nice chill evening, seeing the taco/margarita deal on why not?
Well, the tacos were overly spiced, had no flavour and were soggy without much to them. You wouldnt pay 50 baht for these tacos off a street vendor.
Mergartia is just one style, which is exceptionally sour (even for a margarita) and has from the taste 0 alcohol in.
In short, spend 900 baht pp for terrible food, terrible drinks and a bad stereo in the background.
Could not recommend less, which is a shame.
Service staff are lovely though, so there is that.
Edit: turns out price does not include service charge or VAT. So 2200 baht for a nearly inedible meal and 1 drink that was as sour as a lemon.
There are far better eateries for far less within a 5 minute walk.
It's a Mexican American restaurant.the live music is kind of fun and the food is actually pretty good. We had the special guacamole made fresh tableside, quesadilla ceviche tuna arroz & chille (kind of like a risotto). Wine list starts at 1300bht
This restaurant doubles as breakfast area for the Rembrandt Hotel. Breakfast is 5 star with every choice imaginable.
I didn't eat at Mexicana but the Indain restaurant at the top of the hotel is excellent. Called the Rang Mahal restaurant it's expensive compared to street restaurants but its tranquil and worth doing if for one night you wish to escape the wonderful madness that is Bangkok.
This was place was very amazing, I went here two nights in a row. Stuff is very friendly. Food is wonderful.
