For 400 baht you get 1h30 of mostly 1 on 1 training, depending on how busy it is. Trainers are great, can communicate in English and very friendly. Really great gym for beginners.

We wanted to end our stay in Thailand with a Muay Thai class in Bangkok and we were not disappointed at all! It was great and the people were great! Thank you very much

FYI, the place is not easy to find because it is inside a military base behind a tennis court.

Awesome local gym that hasn't been "americanized". REAL Muay Thai experience with trainers that care about your technique, rather than running you through a cardio session.

Arrive on time! Not a casual tourist drop in center, but a school
You get assessed then pushed to your, limit. Go home happy.

This is a great place to learn Muay Thai. All the trainers here are amazing people they always push me to my limit while fixing my mistakes. Very good value for the price as well.

Teachers are nice and fun, and the training area is outside, which brings lots of trees and a cool natural feeling.equipment is in good condition, and price isn't that expensive. ️

Awesome Muay Thai gym with experienced, friendly and accommodating Trainers. There are 4 Instructors. The workout is pad work intensive and you get to do min 4 rounds with different Trainers. Feel free to walk in and ask for a training session as they don’t have a fixed time for lessons. Highly recommended. Equipment like hand wraps and boxing gloves are available for you to use. They have chilled bottled water on sale too. Just come Your workout attire.

Went here for over a year. I really enjoyed the low key vibe and one on one training. Sometimes the trainer just destroyed me, other times we worked on technique, every time I left feeling like I got my 400tbh worth. This gym is one of the things I will miss the most about Bangkok. If you need air conditioner and high gloss attention, pay 1000tbh and go to some mall gym.

I dont want you to go here because it is getting booked out. They deserve it though. Some of the younger trainers are a bit lazy tho.

Great gym for beginners. Visited with six friends and the trainers gave us a hell of a workout while teaching the basic techniques. Would highly recommend!

Tip: use the Line messaging app to contact Ann at the phone number listed on their profile and website. Her English is great and she was super helpful in ensuring trainers would be available (even last minute)

If you are searching for a gym to do a Muay Thai fight camp, look no further (reach out to them through Facebook). The expertise and commitment the trainers have to the fighters here is hard to compare. Mankong Phranai gym is the best kickboxing gym in Bangkok! I want to the thank Kru Air and Kru Dai for all of their time spent with me, I have sweat like never before and feel prepared to go back home but am already looking forward to my next trip back to Thailand. I have many good memories of my time at this gym and want to say thank you a million times

I've been training at Mankong Phranai for more or less two years now. I've been trying out some other gyms before or in between but have always been coming back here. It's smaller than other gyms and might not look as 'professional' as some of the big ones but the training you get is just as good. The trainers usually really try to communicate with every student, try to see your level of experience and then will adjust their teaching style accordingly. If you come more frequently they will remember you quite fast and try to work with you on improving your overall skills. Moreover making appointments is rather easy via Facebook or LINE messenger and the coaches and owners are just really cool and friendly people. Very much recommended.

I usually go to another well known Muay Thai gym here in Bangkok but for this trip decided to try somewhere new. After reading the reviews, I decided upon Mankong Phranai Muay Thai gym. I only went to this gym twice (technically three times which I will explain).

Day 1: I went in the morning at about 10: 30. There were only two other people there who were just finishing their training and about four trainers. The trainers all had a look of confusion when I got there, as if they were surprised to see someone show up. After a couple of minutes of them speaking amongst each other and asking me what my name was and if I booked a lesson several times, they told me to warm up. Warm up involved the heavy bag so that the trainer can see what level you are. After that, shadow boxing and then four, four minute rounds of the trainer holding pads and directing you. In-between rounds I did sit-ups and afterwards, I finished on the heavy bag. Standard workout and I sweated and enjoyed the session. I also liked the smallness of the gym.

Day 2: I arrived at about 11 in the morning. Again, the trainers seemed surprised to see someone show up. No other people around this time. Four trainers lazing around. A couple of trainers once again discuss something in Thai before telling me to warm up. Warm up was again the heavy bag and then straight into pad work (no shadow boxing). Different trainer this time who smelled funny and had bad breath. He also loved playing Eye-of the Tiger and Bon-Jovi every round. Between round I did sit-ups. Afterwards, finished on the heavy bag. I sweated and the session was largely enjoyable but I felt the lesson had an atmosphere of laziness to it (which to be fair I've felt at other gyms). Interestingly, as another reviewer has noted, when I went to pay the trainer lingered around afterwards standing in front of me as I was packing my stuff away. I got the feeling he wanted a tip. He eventually walked off. After this session, I didn't have the same enthusiasm for this gym but decided to give it another try the next day, as I understand trainers can have off days.

Day 3: I show up at about 11 again. This time, the gym is packed (four people training). All the trainers look busy. As I walk in the guy who trained me yesterday sees me and looks confused/angry. As I approach what I think is the head guy/boss/owner, he looks confused (I'm not surprised). I say I'm here to train, he says it's too late. I was confused because there was still an hour to go before closing and my previous sessions have been no more than 45 minutes tops. He discusses with one of the people training there who speaks decent English and is kind enough to translate. He tells me that I'm too late, I should be at the gym by at least 10: 30 so that I can warm up for half an hour and then do pad work. I'm thinking that's funny, cause that hasn't happened the last two days I've been here. I tell the guy to tell the head guy that I was here at 11 yesterday and that it was fine. He translates but the head guy says no. I think the guy translating was arguing my case but the head guy wouldn't budge. Eventually I said it's ok and left.

Way I see it, they were packed out and didn't have the space which is fair enough. They could have just said this and I would have been fine. Instead they bullshitted me with a lame excuse about being there by at least 10: 30 so that I could have a 'proper' warm up etc. If this gym can afford to turn people away, good for them. I went back to my old gym that afternoon and had a blast. Got trained by a guy who has taught me before and had a thoroughly enjoyable workout. Today I went in the morning and I will go again this afternoon. So Mankong Phranai Muay Thai gym, if you are reading this, you have lost out on 1200 baht already. Tomorrow I will go to another gym twice too. That's another 800 baht you've lost. But good for you for being able to turn people away. As for the 'monetary 'tip' your trainer wanted, I have another tip: have a shower and a breath mint.

I gave 2 stars out of 5 because of the first day.

It’s affordable (400 bht per one group training) and worth the price. Trainers are professional and involved. Probably, comparing to other gyms, the equipment is a little bit old but for me it was ok. Thai boxing is not about shiny gloves. Moreover I would it recommend to everyone, not only beginners.

I have been training there for 3 months and it was amazing. If you look for a club where you can improve your level, it is the place to be. The 3 trainers are very complementary: some focus more on technique, others on cardio, but you will for sure be better session after session. Prices are similar to the rest of the club, but if you decide to pay for one month, it will be cheaper than any other club in BKK. Cardio, punching bag, Paos, Sparing, Abs, stretching. The training cover everything. Finally, those who manage the club are fluent in English, don't hesitate to talk to them if you want a special program. They are also very interactive on facebook, you can send them questions on their page, they will reply quicky.
Remark: if you don't have a very high Muay Thai level, it is useless to search and train in professional muay thai gyms, they won't take care of you much, as they are focus on those preparing for muay thai fights, plus they don't speak english which make it mote difficult (already tried)

Overall, I got my workout done and I sweated. That being stated, I was disappointed by the private 1 to 1 training I got there. Note that I have trained in others gym in Thailand prior this experience. Here are few facts:
* Stretching: stretch yourself! Fortunately, I know how to stretch but there was also a beginner beside me who was completely lost.
Warm up was a classic one even tho the trainer (s) were completely uninterested by how I was doing. Jumping rope? Add 100 more. Run? How long? No explanation. That was quite randomly leaded.
* Shadow boxing/Pad work: you will find out you are a marvelous fighter (despite.you are not). Few technical correction have been made. Disappointing if you are serious in learning MT.
Additional note: I hope you will like Eyes of the Tiger soundtrack, because that is the only song I got during my training.
* Heavy bag work: "free style". I don't mind to do what I want but I would have appreciate some correction or advice in term of combinations, foot placement, especially for a private training. When I glanced at the Kru, he was not very concerned by my work. The beginner beside me did not get any indication on how to work, kick, so he gave up! (told me that right after the training).
* Tipping after the training was more than suggested.
Maybe I did not get the head Kru or the trainers were not motivated that day but for the price I paid, I think I could have found a better place to train.

Very friendly environment. Had my first Muai Thai training here. Cost is 400bhat/session which is a lot cheaper than other gyms. Though coaches are professional fighters, they are still very friendly towards beginners.
