La Scala Bangkok reviews
15 I am never the type of person who write reviews of experience of restaurants but my most recent dinning at La Scala warrents this review. We had our own private room that day with close friends and everyone was over the moon with the food and service. I have been all over Italy dinning in fine restaurants and La Scala is definitely 5 star plus plus. Congrats to Chef Eugerico. Well done

Awesome dinner, I ordered the 7 course menu and wine pairing, everything was perfect and balanced. A true Italian fine dining
Hefty price tag. Ultra small portions. Poor quality. Unfortunately, they removed from their menu the only decent dish they use to have: the signature pizza Schacciatina from previous Chefs.
Furthermore, the restaurant is right by the pool but you can order just a few dishes on their menu. Nonsense.
Today, we arrived at 13: 45 but were denied « Sorry, last order few minutes ago ». Nope last order it’s 2pm! Lazy too?
The food, in itself, was pretty good and potentially in the 3-4 star range. However, the inconstant service broke its back. 45 minutes passed before the starter and bread arrived. 35-40 minutes between second to last dish and last dish. Have you ever experienced such poor timing and slow service ever at these price points? A shame really. Cannot and will not recommend.
La Scala is a highly rated Bangkok establishment restaurant in the amazing Sukhothai Hotel, it has an amazing ambience, awesome staff and a to rave about series of 'set' menus.
It has an air-conditioning system set at around 18°c and you'd better bring a jacket. Also don't ask for any flexibility in the set menus you have to take or leave them, no accounting for the customers preference in a 4,000 plus baht menu.
From Italian turn to be Gastronomic 7 or 5 courses at this moment. The choices of ingredients are quite limited; foie gras, oyster, lobster or pigeon etc so it may impact to some group of people.
Recommend menu are Complimentary starter, Complimentary BreadChickpeas Ravioli Sicilian Red Prawn, Wagyu Cauliflower Coffee and Coffee Hazelnut Black Cardaman for dessert.
One of the best italian restaurant in Bangkok!
Great services, good vibes, delicious and enjoyable meal.
Excellent creative Italian-based foods with a touch of cross-over! Pricey but worth going back! Friendly hospitality!
Went there for some coffee and desserts. Outdoor seating by the pool is really nice. Everything was fine and tasted good. The staff was very polite and friendly. We had a great time.
Set lunch is decent, although could be better. Starters (buratta and salmon tartare were good, nothing to complain about). Mains were only ok, pork chop came with a bone, took some effort to cut it off, pasta with ragu beef could have been softer (meat). Desserts were very good indeed (tiramisu and afogato). Espresso was strong and typically Italian. Complimentary bread so so. Bottled water 4 times more expensive than in grocery store.
Diner is much better though. We went for set menu on top of their signature pizza. Pretty much all what was served was really good, especially beef Rossini being the best, but rest really not far behind it.
Pizza was one of the better we had so far around Bangkok.
Last, but not least, very pleasant service from the staff, yet they could check on guests slightly less often.
Extremely small portions! 3 small pieces of lamb for 1,780thb! (Please see photo for reference). Dude you’re not 1-3 Michelin stars resto, why act like you are one? The quality of each dish did not justify the high price tag. We were still hungry by the end of the meal after ordering salad, pizza, lamb, pasta, pork chop, scallops and desserts for 3 people. Not ok!
This was an authentic Italian restaurant with an excellent dining experience. The presentation of the food and beverage with white glove service just topped it off as a wonderful time had for all in our group.
This is the best Italian restaurant in Bangkok and one of the best in Asia. The food is modern, but the restaurant's strength is that the food is perfectly executed. Few restaurants in Bangkok have the consistency of La Scala. Keep in mind that for Bangkok, it's quite expensive. I think this might have something to do with the handful of negative reviews.
Used to be better than this. It’s been a few years since my last visit. And this time is quite disappointing. Sandwich pizza didn’t taste as good as before, it felt like I was eating pizza salad as I couldn’t taste Parma ham at all.
The pork chop and the lamb tasted good but the portion was too small for main dishes. (See photo)
We were seated by the window and there was a door next to it. Every time someone opened the door, the hot breeze would hit you while dining.
