Ibis Bangkok Riverside reviews
27Old-style hotel with poor sound insulation. The bathroom is not separated and there is water in it. Be careful and you may slip.
I have stayed here many times over the last 10 years. You will get an average room at a fantastic location. The breakfast is really very good and you can eat it sitting beside the Chao Phraya River in the sun. Or you could bypass the breakfast and go straight to Singha on tap.
Unbiased Review: Ibis Riverside Bangkok - A Comprehensive Evaluation
Ibis Riverside Bangkok offers a standard level of service and amenities, falling within the average range expected from a hotel of this category.
Choosing a room with a view facing the pool and river is recommended for an enhanced experience during your stay.
Rooms are compact, neat, and well-maintained. However, it's noteworthy that the pricing might be slightly higher compared to other accommodations due to its prime location along the Chapraya river.
Accessibility is convenient, with ease of travel to various destinations in town, as it is close to the BTS Skytrain. Additionally, its proximity to ICONSIAM, a prominent shopping mall, adds to its convenience.
In the absence of a breakfast option, nearby eateries, including 7-11 and local eateries within a 5-minute walk from the hotel, offer a variety of delicious meals. Particularly recommended are two noodle shops known for their distinct styles and affordable prices, operating from 9 AM to around 9 PM, and notably bustling in the evenings.
Access to rooms through door cards might occasionally require multiple attempts, a minor inconvenience observed during stays.
One aspect to consider is the soundproofing of the rooms, which was below optimal levels, as noise from neighboring guests, particularly door closures, was noticeable and occasionally disruptive.
Overall, Ibis Riverside Bangkok provides a reasonable and comfortable stay, with some minor considerations regarding noise levels and access card functionality.

Good value for money
It's okay to spend a day on the day I arrived late.
Breakfast is better than before
We stayed in this hotel again after 5 years but there are things to improve.
Breakfast was much better 5 years ago. Yes, there are lot of choices but on our first visits there was pinapple and rambutan. Then, there was fresh natural juice as well.
Once there were steamed buns with 3 different fillings, now there is only a sweet one. Thai dishes were much better.
The dining room was much crowded, rven in june.
The hotel prides itself to solve technical problems in 10 minutes.
We twice had problems with the room lock. First time I had to wait in the stairways for the technical team. There were no benches or chairs. The aircon outside of the room does not work well. On another day, the door did not open again and we were given another room. No compensation as an upgrade of was given, we got the same type of room.
The rooms are pleasent, but windows still cant be opened. The shower soap and shampoo the hotels fill up by themself, seems identical.
Food in the hotel is expensive but there is a great vietnamese restaurant nearby. (Turn right on the main street, its about 200 meters on the same side.)
Taxis ordered by the hotels for the airport are very expensive. I advise anyone to use local apps instead for a driver.
Quiet hotel despite the busy road at the end of the dead end. Nice view of the Chao Phraya also convenient for travel and plenty of restaurants around with very welcoming and helpful people. And the appreciable swimming pool after the visits in the evening.
What I liked:
- great location of the hotel
- nice pool and garden area to hangout and have a drink
- rooms are clean
- comfortable beds
- friendly staff
What I did not like:
- I can't rate the breakfast as I never eat one, however the foods from a la carte menu disappointed me. I tried a burger, pizza and Thai curry and none of them convinced me. There is much better food for much less money near the hotel.
- the walls and doors are very thin. You hear everything from the floor and the neighbours rooms.
- the WiFi could be better: I lost connection every 20 seconds when using it in my room
- the water in the pool could be a bit warmer, maybe 2-3 degree.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and I can recommend the hotel.
Great view by the river, with confortável e beds, a nice bathroom and a delicious breakfast, with internacional and local food.
Very strategic hotel, located in the banks of Chao Phraya river. Street foods are within the reach of walking distance. About 1 mile, there's a new mall in Bangkok named ICONSIAM. They said, it was the biggest mall in Thailand.
Very good 3* hotel with big rooms, clean, good breakfast. Big pool for adults and a big pool for childrens. Nice view from breakfast and pool.
Awesome location, very affordable price, sufficient facilities. I really enjoyed my stay here on the recommendation of a friend, and he was right. The hotel is quite affordable (US$100-ish / night) for a Chaophraya Riverside hotel, right in the middle of the city. Walk 5 minutes out and there are many local (not tourist prices and very tasty) food stalls to your left. Across the street is a mini mall and everything else is a taxi hail away. The swimming pool is not big but serves it's purpose for cooling yourself on hot Bangkok days. Next to it is an open-air, riverside cafe perfect for relaxing. Try to get a river view room when you book
Basic 3 star hotel on prime location. Views on river are spectacular. And you can have breakfast outside enjoying that view
Service quite poor and room very basic. No amenities at all in the room. Quite hard to find and taxi will drop you in the street and you have to walk down a long lane with your bags. No access to river as hotel has no pier, you have to walk about 2 kms to get to a ferry pier to cross the river. Staff not very knowledgeable about how to get to ferry pier. Not a good stay.
Ibis Bangkok riverside keeps all the standards of the brand. Good and spacious rooms. The restaurant has some good Thai cuisines which is mouth watering. The view from the room to the riverside is really nice.
Comfortable bed with swimming pool near the BTS Skytrain by have a shuttle bus from hotel and the good view of Chaophraya River
