Completely useless for any Visa situation. I read specifically that you can come to the embassy to get a visa for Vietnam, but they are completely unhelpful and unwilling to help. If you contact the number they provide, it is either busy or dead.

Word of advice, make sure you do your visa to vietnam months ahead of time, and they will make you double pay for your visa as well. Vietnam is very nice but the government processes are terrible

I had to collect my work visa for working in Vietnam from this embassy in person.

My visa approval letter was approved within 4 days, and I was informed by my HR department.

I was unsure about how long I would need to stay in Thailand for which was stressful, especially as the information on the embassy website wasn't very clear, and they were not responsive to emails.

However, the experience in person was much better. I arrived with my approval letter, 1 4 by photo, and a pre filled application form downloaded from the embassy website.

Opening time was 9-11.30am for all queries and application submissions. I arrived at 8 am.and waited outside with a few others. The staff opened the doors and let us wait inside the air-conditioned room. 9am came and went, and about 9.20, they opened the desks. 1 for tourist visas, 3 for work visas, and 2 for payment.

My submission of papers was easy. The man was polite and spoke English. The only disappointment was he confirmed there was no fast track option for business visas, but on the upside, that day was counted in the 3 working days so I could collect weds.

Payment was in baht and was 4800 cash, and they retained your passport with the application.

Collection times were different from advertised on the embassy website and was 15-16.30 and not 4-5pm.
I arrived an hour early on the weds, which was much busier than the submission time, I was first in the queue again. They opened promptly at 3 pm, and I had my visa in a matter of minutes and then booked my taxi straight to the airport to fly home.

Had an e-Visa issue but they said it was an immigration problem and not theirs so they couldn't or wouldn't help. They can't issue an emergency visa as you need a letter from immigration which takes up to two weeks. Applications for an e-Visa take 3-7 days so this is my only option. Will try to call Vietnam immigration but not sure of my chances. Well after spending half the day trying to speak to an English speaking person from Vietnam Immigration I finally got through. My bad luck is that the process can't be sped up so I'm forced to wait patiently, not a good start to my holiday.

Did not have a good experience here.
A few things to note,
1. The hours on Google are incorrect, it doesn’t open until 3pm in the afternoon but they never updated the hours online.
2. They don’t deal with tourist visa enquiries at all in the afternoon, they will tell you to come back the next morning. They only let you collect documents.
3. They don’t reply to emails or phone calls. If you’re applying for a tourist visa and your country is on the list, then definitely apply online and save yourself the time and hassle of coming here.
I found the staff to be unhelpful and rude. They wouldn’t answer questions not just to me but many other customers also.
I was told to come back in 2 working days when I submitted all my business visa documents even though I know it’s possible for the visa to be made on the same day.especially considering they close for 3.5 hours in the middle of the day.
When I offered to pay extra money to have it the same day they agreed and charged me an extra 900 baht to make it in 30 minutes (still took an hour).
I understand they are busy etc, but their treatment of customers and lack of support and information is very frustrating.

It's easy to find. maps will take you straight to the location. It seems rather organized if you have all your papers in order. They do not answer any calls by phone. So unfortunately they are not as helpful as one would wish them to be. I could have avoided visiting the embassy if someone, anyone would pick up the phone and give accurate information. But its only a 20min walk from where I am stationed.so it was a pleasant stroll.

Came here for a work visa with my invitation letter. Takes 2 working days to process and costs 4800 baht. Not a same day process for work visas unfortunately. They also take your passport so be prepared to survive in Bangkok without it for several days, as it’s required for hotel check ins etc.

While it was efficient with my time, the staff were less than helpful. Nevermind the fact that the procedures are ridiculous, the staff don't care to help understand any of the steps.

1.3 windows, tourist visa window is the worst service
2. Tourist window, one person, he doesn’t look at you when I m standing in front of window and no talk. Then I ask the information, he doesn’t reply and point at the paper on table without looking at me, without explaining. Rude 100%.
3. The email (on paper mentioned above) don’t answer within a short time, says at least 2 weeks or 1 month.
4. The guidance on paper, key document is the approval letter, however, you have to ask it via email. The guidance doesn’t tell you what you need to write in email for this approval letter, no information about how long you will get, nothing about nothing.
All in all, helpless on tourist visa and no friendly staff, bad experience completely.

They never pick up the phone, so had to get there in person. They do not provide any assistance, so you have to use "agencies" so they can get kickbacks as well

Do not waste your money on a taxi coming here for support with an emergency visa. They will not help you. They had a sign that said “no tourist” as soon as you come in. We were provided with Vietnam Immigration contact numbers and received no answer. The employee said the Vietnam Immigration office never answers the phone.

The worst embassy with the worst staff members. The staff members and the officials were very rude, incompetent with their work and on top of that the embassy never picks up their phone. I'd strongly recommend everyone to avoid the embassy here

Absolute waste of time, stay away they are no help and extremely rude.
I was made to wait 6 hours to be told I now need a letter from immigration which I can not find anywhere online.
Rough processing time is now 2 weeks

I arrived at 2pm. Apparently submissions for Business Visa’s are only accepted in the morning however they accepted me anyways and my visa was ready by 4pm. They allowed me to pay once I collected my passport (I didn’t have enough Thai Baht at the time of submission. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH. THAI BAHT ONLY) No issues, straight to the point. Dịch vụ ở đây rất tốt

PS: It cost 3960 baht for a 3month Business Visa

I found it to be a much better experience than what I had been reading about. I found the staff friendly and helpful. Considering the workload put on them during these times. When I put my application in it was crowded and one person working the counter. She was doing the best she could under the circumstances. I gave my application with the letter of invitation. Which is a requirement and it went very smoothly. I got my receipt to pick up my passport the next day. I left and when I went in today I got my passport paid the fee and was done.
I saw people come in saying that they need things now because they have a flight that night. Others that didn’t have required paperwork and upset because they couldn’t get what they wanted. But that’s only the fault of the individual not the Embassy.

You better try contacting Vietnam officials in some other country, because this embassy is officially the worst in the world. Seriously. These people are useless. I would love to punch them in the face, but probably they are going to kill themselves soon anyway, because they just hate their job and life.

Just wanted to provide some current info:
before and after the 2.5 hour "lunch" break is processing time
4pm-5pm is collection time only

although it's labeled as an embassy, it's closer to a very sketchy travel agent.these are the quotes i got:
~2250 baht (~$75 usd for one month)
~5700 baht (~$175 usd for three months)

note: 3 months isn't even possible at the moment according to the government's website.so.i'm kinda skeptical it would even work?

anyway, for most people, at the moment, it's best to get 1 month e-visa for $25.i see no other reasonable choice from Thailand.i personally wanted a physical visa because i read it's possible to extend and even change it (in case i wanted to change to a work visa)

compare that to Thailand's 1900 baht ($60) 2 month covid extension, and maybe the 3-month deal isn't too terrible, assuming it's a real stamp. (and assuming it's a real embassy.). But i'd personally check online for well-reviewed travel agents in Vietnam, and just order the e-visa as solid official backup (as that seems like the only real visa?)

there are "consulate general of Vietnam" (mighty Vietnam?) elsewhere in Thailand that may be able to provide infinitely better services. For example, there's one in Khon Kaen (a town with far less miserable people). From there, you could just take a bus through Cambodia, or maybe even fly via the local airport! Both sound like better choices than this.the place looks like a prison room, painted white, abandoned for years.at collection time, no one was even at the window.i took the bus #25 from the train station to get there, and there is only one lane on the way (but 5 lanes on the way back?), and so it took 1 hour to go 5km.otherwise, you'd have to take two different metro trains, and i'm not sure they transfer, because Thailand is a dog eat dog world with village mentality.amongst the last places you'd want to be on earth, but i hear the people from Vietnam are lovely ; (

Worst scam embassy ever. I had to pay 1650 baht to legalize two documents. To legalize the documents at the Thai consulate, I had to pay $400 baht. Just complete made up price. Garbage scammers. I knew I should have flew to Cambodia's embassy of Vietnam to avoid you scam thieves. Everyone on wireless road is a worm.
