I had Neil Castle to take pictures for a property listed by me. He is a gentleman. He knows his job really well. He knows how to respect the Vendors and has a lot of patience. I recommend Neil for photography any time.

Dear Diakrit Recruitment Team (sic),

absolute highest standards (sic)
a serious company (sic)
Kind regards, Diakrit Recruitment Team (sic)

Seriously?

Pray tell, are clients addressed in a similar facile and patronising manner as applicants or potential applicants, where one is communicating with an entity and not a person?

No? One wonders, why?

Yours "sincerely",

Confidentiality? Privacy? (Can't give a zero or minus rating!)

Applying for photographic employment in Australia you are:

1. Asked to supply 10 images. Red Flag - And a reminder to watch file sizes and remove exif data from your images.

2. Asked about the gear you own. Red Flag - not even employed and possibly visible to all and sundry? Please feel free to visit and take what you want! Need my bank account details also?

3. Asked to supply written client references. Red Flag - phishing for your contacts and you're not even employed? Sure - go ahead!

4. You then have the option to apply via Facebook / Linkedin but fear not - they'll ask for it before your application is submitted. Red Flag - now you are a follower and will get advertising (a pity this was not advised in their T&C's!)

5. Finally you are asked to provide details of one Referee before completing further details. Red Flag - phishing for emails? You can bail only at the point of completing further details.

Notwithstanding one owner of this company is a known entity (and this was the extent of my "trust") - the above information is confidential and quite frankly nobody's business but my own! If a job offer is there, then sure not a problem, but beforehand?

I'll reserve comment on the 3rd party recruiting app used in this, but recruitment agencies just cannot help themselves.
