Had dinner at Blue Elephant when visiting Bangkok for a vacation. The food was great and the service was excellent. My wife and I are vegetarians so there was a separate section on the menu for vegetarian food which was very helpful. We ordered Pina Colada, Asparagus Spring Rolls, Green Curry with Jasmine Rice and Mango with Sticky rice. All three dishes were delicious.

The only thing I felt was that the tables were too close to each other so atmosphere was a little loud but otherwise had an amazing experience.

My visit to Blue Elephant in Bangkok was truly exceptional. The culinary journey began with an array of appetizers, each a delightful prelude to the gastronomic adventure that followed. The Pad Thai, a masterpiece in itself, showcased the chef’s mastery of flavors and textures.

The wine recommendation complemented the meal impeccably, enhancing the overall dining experience. The staff’s service was beyond reproach—attentive, friendly, and always timely. Their commitment to ensuring a memorable dining experience was evident in every interaction.

From the moment I entered, the ambiance exuded sophistication, creating the perfect backdrop for an exquisite meal. Blue Elephant has undoubtedly set a high standard for culinary excellence, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a blend of impeccable taste and exceptional service in the heart of Bangkok.

What an experience! Top location, a bit too crowded for my perspective, very professional service, stunning dishes, great thai rosé wine, absolutely reccomended

Service and location are great! Prices are pretty high, but it is a special restaurant. Unfortunately, we ordered a bit too spicy.

Embarked on a culinary journey at Blue Elephant Restaurant in Bangkok, and oh, what a feast! Indulged in the Chef's Tasting Menu, a symphony of royal Thai cuisine that was nothing short of a masterpiece.

Every dish was a meticulous blend of specially selected ingredients, bursting with natural flavors and enriched with health benefits. The experience was not just a meal; it was a celebration of Thai culinary artistry.

The ambiance was exquisite, the service impeccable. From start to finish, Blue Elephant is a treasure trove of gastronomic delights. A must-visit for those seeking an authentic and enriching Thai dining experience!

Entering this cream coloured three-story colonial mansion sets you back in the 19th century.

The servers wai as you are embraced by a meticulous, serene woodwork.

Your guests include a stellar gamut of celeb politicians, models and actors (but no one names 'names').

Bathed in warm lights, with golden elephant-shaped silverware, two wine glasses, placemats, and your friends, associates, family—or solo date—you think: “things couldn’t get better... ”

But they do.

You flip through the Blue Book of Head Chef Nooror’s Joys and Secrets... But it’s tough making a choice. Bo mi pen ha. Chef Nooror has already figured it out for you.

The waiter presents you with caviar pearls blended into a fine white cream tucked inside a flower mold cracker, accompanied by catfish tempura, big shrimp garnished with panko and a butterfly pea flower dumpling stuffed with succulent shallots and peanuts.

After the Starters, come the Black Diamond Scallops skewed on lemon grass husk, homemade avocado mayo salsa and Thailand’s iconic som tum (sweet and spicy papaya salad). Next up: Duck confit carefully tenderized to feel just right. While I’m a fan of the roasted street food version, Chef Nooror’s finger-licking duck is on anottha juicy, lean level.

Main Course arrives in a modern Scandinavian grey ceramic bowl brimmed with kaffir lime coconut curry, a colossal tiger prawn and purple vermicelli. And it keeps on going with a heated blue bowl of Massaman lamb curry and a side of warm red and brown rice.

By now, you're probably ready for a siesta upstairs by the Palm Court. But “you’ve always got room for dessert”—an assortment of rich mango cheesecake, more mango with layers of sticky rice, Spanish flan, Belgian chocolate mousse just to jazz it up and jasmine ice-cream to cool it off.

Thank you Blue Elephant!

We had dinner here again tonight, this place has been a favorite of mine for years. From sitting at the bar having an ice cold Singha to ward off the heat of early evening while waiting for our table to finishing with mango sticky rice the evening is perfect by the ambience of this place, the wait staff, the coziness { it’s a large restaurant but divided by floors and individual areas} very well done, the cleanness of the dishes, the ease to get here { you literally walk off the sky train to the place at Surasek station, the evening is magical. They have maintained this feeling for many years. We look forward to our next visit to Bangkok and Blue Elephant.

Overrated and overpriced. Main course meals were decent, nothing special. Maybe should have tried out the unique dishes instead of the usual ones (green curry and spring roll etc.). Service and atmosphere were excellent though, great for a romantic dinner. Desserts were really good, except the coffee (it was pretty normal).

If you want true Thai cuisine then a visit to Blue Elephant is a must. Conveniently located opposite to the Surasak skytrain, Blue Elephant serves royal Thai cuisine that dates back 150 years.

May be a bit touristy but food and service was top notch. The prawn cakes were exceptionally good and so was the fried snow fish.

The usual Pad Thai, Green Curry chicken and Tom Yum Kung were also very good.

If there ever is such a thing as high end, fine dining Thai food, this is it. Everything is meticulous in it's execution. The service could not be better. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Elegant setting for an evening night out worthy to remember. The food, did I mention, is excellent in every way?

Great food and service, be ready to pay for it. This is not a local Thai restaurant but an international one.

I hosted a group of 20 from across Asia to the Blue Elephant Cooking School. We started at 1330 by convening in a demo kitchen set up with 20 desks, one demonstration kitchen and a video of that demonstration shown on a large screen TV so that everyone could clearly see the chef at work. The chef prepared one a dish, clearly explaining the ingredients and cooking style. After the chef completed a dish he asked everyone to taste it while they transitioned into the kitchen. The group then went to 20 assigned cooking stations to cook it for themselves. There were several chefs walking and helping with any questions. In total we did this cycle four times, preparing 4 dishes. Blue Elephant offers different menus for different days of the week, but if you book the entire place you can choose your 4 dishes. After receiving their personalized certificates all 20 newly minted Thai chefs proceeded to the ground floor dining room where they were presented with their four dishes to enjoy for a late lunch / early dinner. Each of them was served the food that they themselves prepared. The transitions were very smooth. When the demonstration session was going on the kitchen was re-set for the next dish. Our team was able to prepare 4 dishes in 2.5 hours. I can highly recommend this experience for groups of up to 20 people.

Great dining experience. Loved the coconut rice. Portion is small. It’s like a fine dining restaurant. Ordered many of their signature dishes and none failed. Good experience indeed. They have a shopping corner to purchase their merchandise. Reservation required as it can be very packed

It is on the expensive side but worth every single penny. The food is incredible to say the least. The chefs starter that they bring you is 10/10. Service was also if course amazing. Honestly cant rave enough about the place and the food. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a lovely restaurant to go to, you wont regret it!

Came here quite a few years ago and it was an amazing experience, the ambience, setting and of course the food.

Fast forward to yesterday 28th Nov 2018, the food experience has changed alot.

Firstly, to the good things.
-I called to rebook the table to a later time from 6pm to 8pm, that was handled quickly and very politely.
-The exterior of the restaurant was well maintain, looks really high class.
-inside, decor was very nice, nice touch with the small sales shop in the corner.
-receptionist was very polite, asked us to wait in the shop until table was ready.
-we were sat upstairs, decor was nice, elegant and made us feel like fine Thai dining.

Onto the not so good:
-asked for lemongrass tea for 2. Beautiful Blue Elephant teapot, nice cups but a tea bag? Really? Didn't really taste the lemongrass.
-ordered 3 dishes
Tom yum goong soup-really bad
Paneang curry beef-cold but nice
Deep fried fish with tamarind turmeric sauce-warm but nice

The food arrived exceptionally fast almost to the point that I thought it was precooked but this is only my assumption. I never asked.

Rice arrived, brown and white rice were served, steaming hot rice.

The soup was served in a nice bowl with a candle underneath to keep it hot/warm, the problem was, the soup itself was lukewarm at best. I picked up and held the bowl with the palms of my hand.
We actually removed all the ingredients inside to help the soup get warmer but a single candle didn't help.
We asked for the soup to be heated up more, server came back with 2 more candles. 5mins went by, soup was getting colder actually due to air conditioning in room.
I asked for waiter and he explained that Blue Elephant food is this style, food is lukewarm not piping hot like other Thai restaurants and that the soup itself is cooked to 70C, i held the bowl with my palm to show him it was basically cold.
He agreed to reheat, soup came back, slightly warmer, he said stir it, candle will heat it, we gave up.

The Paneang curry beef ingredients and taste was very nice except again it was lukewarm too. Beef was tough as though (this is again an assumption only) it was cooked earlier and reheated making the beef tough.

Fish was very nice, Wasn't hot but not cold either

For the money we paid, we expected more, at least to hot food, if the style of the food is lukewarm then why was the steamed brown and white rice piping hot, surely rice should have been lukewarm to match the temperature of the other dishes.

I realised they were busy, there were 3 big 'tour group' tables next to us and the waiters and waitresses were working 120% but still.

Overall, bad experience for a birthday dinner.

Best place ever! The food is amazing the people who work there are very kind and the atmosphere is especial. As a chef I really recommend the restaurant and the cooking school. Very Easy to get there by the Bts also. Everything was perfect.
