Amantee The Bakery reviews
26One of the few places in Bangkok with good hard type bread. Minus one point because the black olive bread was not real olives but Chinese olives (หนำเลี๊ยบ)
ครัวซองต์เป็นชั้นสวยงาม กลิ่นอ่อนและเนื้อแห้งไปนิด ส่วนขนมที่คล้ายๆ ควินอามาน (จำชื่อไม่ได้) อร่อยมากครับ)
By far the best bread / crunchy expertly baked french style baguette in Bangkok! This hidden gem on the 4th floor of EmQuartier is a destination! We stumbled upon this by accident, but went out of our way to get baguettes there later on! Villa Market nearby also has a huge selection of
imported cheese to enjoy in the park!
We ‘d rather see Amantee on wet markets, but it has been a pleasure as we were passing by their mall location to enjoy a piece of their bread again
Easily the best bakery in Bangkok if you are looking for a European style bakery / urgently need a crunchy baguette. Amazing artsinal selection and the staff is so kind. Highly recommend!
A lovely little bakery in EmQuartier. I believe Ian Kittichai is also somewhat involved in this venture.
That said, my last visit was quite sad. Unfortunately they nixed/86ed the cheese selection.
Cheese is no more. No more truffle Gouda. No more lazing in the afternoon over a few delicious bites with a glass of wine and good company.
December 2022/2565: I did see a few loaves of bread, croissants and, on the outside case some weird vegan gingerbread concoction.
Is this the old Amantee? They have narrowed their focus and hope this brings them many returns. Sadly for me, I won’t be back (-2 points).
Bought pain au choc and fougasse, must say the bread itself is really good; fragrant and soft on the inside (the artisanal kind) but still short of the French bakery kind of goodness. Nice place to chill though.
Please urgently work on the behavior of your staff! 11: 30am (Saturday) and not open yet, picking up the phone for 4min in front of me and let me wait. Other 2 staff ignoring me. Then telling me they’re not ready yet, only have very few items.
Awesome bread (and butter!), such a gem if you’re into European bread.
Edit 11.2020: Nooo, the butter is gone! Any chance to buy them somewhere else? Big bummer!
Went out of my way to try them because of the rave reviews, and honestly was not impressed by their baguettes. Not at all outstanding by French standards like some claim.
Also asked if they had any quiche, and it was funny that the staff had never even heard of that before.
REAL BREAD, real taste, real texture, real quality! Every time I am around EmQuartier I cannot stop myself coming here for a big bag of bread! They have some regular items that never disappoint you; and sometimes they have new experiment on the shelves, they are really surprise! At the moment, cannot find anyone better than Amantree yet
It is difficult if not impossible to compare with any other bakery in Bangkok! Why?
Simply because the quality and variety of baked goods is unequivocally unmatched in Thailand and could definitely rival with the best of the best around the world.
Gilles is passionate about bread and all other types of quality products.
The service has, it’s true, been inconsistent sometimes over the years (especially at EmQuartier) but I was there yesterday and the service and kindness of “Toey” and “Bui” was irreproachable (sorry if I misspelled their names).
I would also argue the fact that some people find it pricy, as the starting prices are very competitive and quality is always in the bag or on the plate,
This is the best bakery around Bangkok in my humble opinion. Plenty of breads and pastries to choose from, my personal favorite being these of rye variety (Ukraine inspiration). Very good croissants too.
Customer service is a joke though. They run this business in unprofessional manner with little regard to a customers. Branch is open or closed randomly without communicating it to customers.
Great and authentic bakery. Best bread I’ve had in Bangkok so far.
Worth a visit to pick it up yourself to see what else they’ve got to offer.
Doesn’t look as inviting when the owner isn, t around but they have fantastic stuff. Excellent bread butter and cheese.
As many have mentioned, it is one of if not the best French bakery in Bangkok. The prices follow the high quality.breads and viennoiseries are outstanding
Our favourite bakery store. Good bread, cheese and butter with service minded staff! Highly recommended
The best galettes des rois in Bangkok and indeed all the best bread you want to eat. Nice location EM Quartier. We love to go there
As good as any French boulangerie or patisserie. It is very hard to find bread and pastry of this quality in Thailand. I love this place.
Wonderful bread which would be considered outstanding even in any European bread-lover country. Fantastic French cheese. Full flavor French artisan butter. Supported by decent wines that don't cost an arm and a leg. You can sit down and have a cheese plate with their bread and a glass of wine. Defo one of my most favorite BKK lunch pastures!
A word on the staff which is, well. Very French, occasionally, despite being obviously Thai. They all work here a long time. Some of them are very attentive, remember you and what you said even a year later. Others (the serving ones) can be a bit weird and quirky. Not sure they are self-aware enough to realize their own service level. This doesn't seem bad intention - just their way of being, kinda French, you know, in a "the customer is always wrong" sense. A smile goes a long way, and it seems it hasn't arrived here yet. But the food delivers and if that's what you come for, then you'll defo leave satisfied. If you expect to get worshipped and your feet kissed, then this is probably not the best spot.
But, man, does this bread, butter and cheese deliver!
