Adelphi Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok

If been staying here 1 week a month for 4 months when getting treatment at bumrungrad. The staff is caring, supportive and honestly concerned as well as happy when I get treatment. Are like second family. I can't say enough good things. I almost hate to post this review because they might book out! Lol

At first, I stayed on the 7th floor, but I couldn't sleep because I heard strange noises from the ceiling a total of 5 times, once every 90 minutes. It was okay to change the room the next day, but considering the day I couldn't sleep at all because of the noise, I don't think I'll book again.

A nice hotel, was here for the third time and would love to come back next time.

Hotel: The hotel is a bit out of the way and is therefore quiet, a 7-Eleven is about 2-3 minutes away on foot.
The hotel's public areas are stylishly designed and very clean.

Facilities: The pool is attractive and you can generally find peace and quiet here.
There are sun loungers but also tables in the shade to use a notebook.
The breakfast in the restaurant is varied and I had nothing to complain about in terms of quality.
I have ordered meals via room service several times and it has always been great. I've seen hotels where the food was cheaper, but also more expensive ones.

Staff: All staff were consistently friendly and most of them spoke good English.
Any special requests I had were fulfilled quickly.

Rooms: I have chosen different room categories at different prices for all my stays.
The rooms were clean every time and the cleaners do a good job.
A very great feature is the washing machines in the room (the hotel provides powdered detergent for free).
The only thing that bothered me was the air conditioning, which was unfortunately quite loud.
Even in the quietest mode they were relatively loud and I found them annoying when I was sleeping.
The internet in the room was consistent and quite fast.
My highlight was the modern Japanese-style toilet with bidet, heating function and air fan.

I'd like to call this hotel 5 stars. It hasn't been built for a long time, and the exterior is wonderful. The room I stayed in was very good except for a few. 1. Hard bed 2. Shower water pressure is weak. 3. Difficult to control water temperature. 4. No smoking area. I would also like to recommend James among the employees. He is very kind and can speak some Korean. He treated me kindly until I checked out. I'll visit you again later

Excellent 12-day stay at The Adelphi Grande. I have lost count of my number of stays here (maybe 8 or 9?).

I think the test of any good hotel stay is dependent on the quality of its staff. This is certainly not lacking at The Adelphi, and it is the reason I continue to stay with them.
Special mention goes to Rafa, Armani, Jame, Zee, Pang, Ya - Front Office, Lam Pheng (I somehow forgot the other names) - housekeeping, and Sing - Room service.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and their housekeeping schedule is spot on. Another plus point is the washer dryer, which means that you don't need to bring along that many clothes. More space for shopping.
Their close location to the BTS and MRT is another plus point.

Stayed 3 nights at Adelphi in a grand one bedroom suite. Great self contained very spacious apartment which was very well appointed and comfortable! Was a little way up 41 alley off Sukhumvit Rd which I consider a good thing as it is a nice quiet spot! Pool was really nice as was the delicious breakfast cooked by chef Lek! Highly recommend especially for longer stays and couples!

We booked the serviced apartment since the photos were nice. But, hmm where do I start - big mistake: (it’s a second day here and I’m counting days to leave. Pros - the location is nice, also there is some greenery nearby. Pleasant looking furniture. The windows do open.

Cons - the thing that bothers me the most is a horrible quality of bed - both the mattress and pillows are the worst quality you can expect. A hard, spring mattress where you feel every spring on your back. Pillows - those overpacked with polyester fiber. We asked the staff for different pillows, they don’t have it, we sleep without. Breakfast - same quality as pillows. Not much western food, white toast and eggs, some old pastries and jelly. Swimming pool - the water is freezing. Gym - a handful of old machines, nothing for glutes or tights.

Edit: it’s impossible to set the right water temperature in the shower. Downgrading it to one star. The chef is very nice though.

Good: convenient location
Not goods:
1, tuktuk service hadn’t been available while I stayed for a week.
2, miss communication. They asked me to pay for extra bed even though I received email from the hotel saying it’s included.
Furthermore, I asked to prepare an extra bed for my kid because of my lat-at-night check in, they hadn’t done and asked me to pay.unbelievable experience I ever had in my life.
3, not good enough breakfast
4, not thoughtful service

I concluded I will never stay this hotel.
So sad.

Unfriendly & overpriced.
I stayed here almost 2 weeks. Without warning, the manager suddenly asked me to check out siting the fact that I had be seen walking barefoot in the lobby a couple of times. He commented "this is not your home". By the way, this place is not formal, not particularly upscale. Also all staff I spoke to were robotic and unfriendly and seemed unhappy.
When I tried to collect my belongings the night I checked out, the night staff would not allow it and refused to call manager for fear he would disturb him. I finally got my belongings after calling police to come assist me.
Those are the main negatives: quite unfriendly and overpriced.
On the positive side, the place is indeed newly renovated so rooms feel new and clean. Swimming pool is also decent. Location is convenient to BTS and Emporium shopping.
Overall I dont recommend this place because many other more friendly, more beautiful and better managed hotels exist in same or even cheaper price range.

Newish hotel with nice amenities on Sukhumvit Road. Location is ok, although there is nothing in the immediate area. Skytrain is about a 10 minute walk. Even though the rooms were nicely appointed, my family and i all slept uncomfortably due to terrible nightmares during our 2 day stay, i can't explain it, and our 2 rooms were on different floors. Couldn't recommend this hotel.

Great room with all the facilities, great staff, great location, very clean, the bed was super comfortable.

The only problem is the hot water which didn't work well. We stay for 6 days and 5 night there were only 15 min where hot water work. (And we did turned on the master switch as the staff recommended so it was not the problem of the switch-off-master).

I highly recommend this place, our room is very spacious beautiful view of the city every corner and they clean it everyday, employees at the front desk are very helpful and nice, the grocery store is just around the corner if you need something, a lot of stuff you can see closeby is just walking distance.

Good. Facilities and amenities are OK. Staffs are so kind. But, I had one problem that adjusting of bath/shower water temp is so difficult and not stable. I hope to improve this. I hope the hotel to improve this.

This hotel has ruined my holiday. Now I just want to leave

I booked this a while back. Good reviews. And the pictures of the rooms are amazing.

It's all a lie.

The room I actually got is significantly smaller. And absolutely not the room I booked.

It took me some digging. But I did find this room listed for much less than I am paying.

I was so excited to come to Bangkok.

Now the staff is arguing with me that they actually upgraded me to this room that is half the size. And costs half as much.

Not very clean. Quite dated. The floors are not level

I am so incredibly angry

I just want to leave

I gave them several months notice that I wanted to cancel, but they refused to refund me, which made things very unpleasant.

Location is far from downtown and metros but there are still lots of amenities close by. I’m disappointed that management preferred to keep my money and refuse my cancellation rather than re-rent the room and ensure my satisfaction.

We also found WAY nicer hotels for less cost. I would not recommend this hotel!

The room is very large, much like a rental house, there is a money-free washing machine, a roughly complete kitchenette, very much storage cabinet and mirror, the light is good enough, two bed room is very large room, there is a lot of space, there are a lot of sockets.
Bathrooms are also large, but the bathtub is not wet enough to separate, will leak, hot and cold water change uneven, but this is a small matter.
Close to BTS Phrom Phong station, fast walk, very easy to go, very urban, suitable for business or small travel.
The hotel staff service is very good, very polite, clean and tidy.

This is my 2nd stay with Adelphi. It fits with my location requirement which is to be close to both the MRT & BTS stations making travel relatively easy. Bikes and cars aren't exactly the best ways to travel in Bangkok.
There is a Tops supermarket at the beginning of the soi so that is a great convenience and the Phrom Phong BTS station is some 300m from the main road.
The hotel is good in that the rooms are well equipped and reasonably large. The washer/dryer requires less luggage and I find this ideal.
Breakfast was part of my pkg but much of what they serve is pork to cater to the Jap clientele but I am generally comfortable with eggs and toast. But they should cater to others too.
Room service is on time and this is something I am particular about. Staff are attentive and good at what they do and
Tippy, Jame and Koi deserve special mention
I am sure I would return in future.

August 2019 - The only downside was that the lobby was going through some renovations and the sound of hammering and drilling was irritating especially early morning. But other than that it remains among the better hotels that I have visited in my 10 trips to Bangkok. I believe much of this dwells on their staff which is among the best I have encountered. Nothing is too difficult for them to manage. 'Tip' at the front desk is wonderful and deserves mention.
The room is large with a good bed. The washing machine and kitchen facilities are great to have on hand.
Definitely worth your while.

The location is perfect because the Adelphi Grande is in a beautiful, clean, vibrant district while at the same time Soi 41 is so quiet!
Staff are extremely friendly and hospitable, very capable. Everybody speaks fantastic English.
When I come back I'm absolutely starting here again.
